Coming into the Year the Dallas Cowboys where expected to be serious super bowl contenders. And if you would've told someone that they wouldn't even make the playoffs, they would've laughed at you and said your crazy. So what happened? What happened was that the cowboys egos became larger than their winning percentage. And when they started to struggle they traded for another ego. Roy Williams, and during a streak without Romo their lack of a back-up Quarterback was exposed.
With that said here's what id do if I where Jerry Jones.
I would fire wade phillips. It's not that he's a bad coach, he's just not what the Cowboys need. Id keep jason Garret at coordiantor and remove the assistant head coach label. To replace Phillips I would get Marty schotinheimer (spelling?) He's the kind of guy who could keep the players in line. He's a great coach and will point the cowboys in the right direction.
Trade Terrel Owens. Most of the problems come off of him. Not only does he create controversy in the locker room he messes up Romo. Every time Romo drops back instead of throwing the ball to the open receiver he thorws into double coverage so Owens don't get mad. Besides They still would have Williams, witten, and they could draft another receiver to help out.
Release Pacman. He had his an ungodly amount of chances and releasing him would show that your determined to become a TEAM.
Gain depth, specifically quarterback. Romo is a very good Quarterback but is injury prone. If he goes down they must have a veteren backup that could come in for a few games and manage the game.
Stay out of everything. Jerry Jones is owner, GM, coach, coordinator, etc. He has to let the coaches coach and the GMs manage the rosters.
What do you think? Got any better ideas let me know.
