This Chargers squad is getting hot at the right time, rolling on all cylinders.   They are coming off there last 4, blowing out 3 of those teams and an amazing comeback in 1 (I don't care who you are playing, 2 TDs in 76 seconds is amazing).  Here is a guideline for play-off succees.

1.  Balance.

LDT has been hot lately.  LDT has to keep the defense from keying in on Philip Rivers (funny how things can change).  The Chargers have to commit to it as well, don't give up on it, if they do they become one dimensional.  A one dimensional offense won't get it done, they need the run to sustain drives and keep the opposing offense off the field and their defense (which has become a liability) on the sideline.

2. Agressiveness.

You have one of the most accurate deepball throwers in the league, and a ton of big play receivers.  Vincent Jackson had a break out year collecting nearly 1100 yards this season, they need to keep him in the loop 10-13 targets in every game, VJ had a breakout post-season last year he will come up big if given the oppurtunity.  Rivers was fifth in yards, despite being 12 in attempts and lead the league in yards/attempt, he can get the ball down field.

3. Full Coverage, with help

The problem for the Chargers secondary has not been the coverage.  These days it's impossible to stay with a receiver for an extended amount of time, the pass rush needs to get to the QB.  Cro is one of the best ball hawks in the league, the reason why his numbers are low is the lack of a pass rush, QBs have all day and I don't care who you are a QB with all day always equates to completions.

 4. Keep playing like a brick wall.

The run D has to keep up the great play, they were 11th in the league but really turned it on late.  Jamal Williams is impossible to move when healthy, he's healthy so no one will run oinside.  It's up to Shaun Phillips and Jyles Tucker to tackle well.

5. Bully

Marcus McNeill, 6-7" 336 pounds

Kris Dielman, 6-4" 310 pounds

Nick Hardwick, 6-4" 295 pounds

Mike Goff , 6-5" 311 pounds

Jeremy Clary,  6-6"  306 pounds

And Brandon Manumaleuna, 6-2" 288 pounds (that's even a little flattering)

Line up and play smash mouth style

So what do you think, anything to add?

I think SD will beat Indy.

After that, the only way they'll go further is if somehow houses fall on all the other teams
as they're practicing.

Enjoy the Indy win cuz it's not going any further than that.

Totally disagree.

If they can get by Indy, they can get by anyone. Indy is the big test.

How did that prediction work out for you, sport?

Indy was a good team on a roll who was destined to lose, in my opinion, at some point before they got to the Super Bowl, sooner more likely than later. The Chargers are an okay team on a tear before they peter out against either the Steelers or Titans. And-voila!-you get last weekend's result.

You shoulda listened to Poppa!
