It looks like the Lions are already throwing in the towel on the next few years! I guess what I wrote previously is true, because the Lions front office is serious about choosing Minnesota Defense Coordinator Leslie Frazier. I am not saying he is a bad Coordinator, but he does not bring to mind turning around an organization that is in dispair and disrepair.
It looks like another "brilliant" move by the Detroit Lions head office. Almost as good a choice as Matt Millen!! Whoo Hoo!!!
If Detroit was serious, then Mr. Ford would have cleaned the entire front office out and lured in Cowher or Shanahan, or Garrett from Dallas. Since he kept everyone except Millen and Marinelli, then it shows he is still clueless and does not care to turn this program around to being even somewhat competitive.
Frazier has done a good job with Minnesota's defense, but the Lions need an overhaul on all fronts!! Offense, Defense, and Special teams. Not in personnel so much as in coaching. A Defensive Coordinator with NO HEAD COACHING EXPERIENCE is not the way to go.
Detroit will save a lot of money going with him, and I think that is what drives Mr. Ford. $500k a year for a coach that will keep the status quo (celler dweller), or go spend some real money on a proven coach. There are a few out there. Even Mangini would give him some credibility.
By going after these hungry, inexperienced people, it shows Mr. Ford has no intention of salvaging this SUNKEN SHIP! My condolences to the Detroit fans. Your Captain has chosen a crappy rudder for the ship and I am afraid the course will stay the same. Coming in last each year at least eliminates the surprise and think about the players; All that extra rest each year not having to play in those pesky playoffs and home for Christmas guaranteed!!
I have said it once, and I will say it again... Paper Bags... They are cheap and you can get as many as you need to hang over your head at the games. Tampa used to do it and it seemed to quell the shame of not only being a Buc Fan, but of actually paying to see them play. Get used to it Detroit, it is your destiny for at least a few more years...
