On Friday Janunary 2nd, two arch rivals will go at it at the Pyramid, Long Beach State and UCSB. Long Beach comes into the game at 5-7. UCSB comes in at 6-6. Both have had very tough non-conference schedules that include teams of North Carolina, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Temple, Utah State, San Diego State, Oregon, etc.... The Gauchos are led by Senior forward Chris Devine who is averaging 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds. Then there is Junior guard James Powell who is averaging 11.3 points and shoots 82% from the free throw line. Also coming in after a solid game is James Nunnally who is coming off a 12 point, 6 rebound, and 3 assist game vs Ball State. Leading the 49ers is Donovan Morris who comes into the game averaging 17.2 points and 4.0 rebounds. This is sure to be a good matchup. Long Beach leads the overall series by a margin of 52-51.
