What's going on with Alabama? | The Ramblings of a Gator

Hey, welcome to the blog. Nice to have you.... A little bit about me first. I'm a college student at Campbell University. I'm a big Florida Gator and Jacksonville Jaguar fan. I follow the NCAA, NFL, NHL, NASCAR, Soccer (when I can), and MMA. All three should get mentioned pretty regularly. Anyway, off we go.... At the time I'm writing this, there are 30 minutes left in the Sugar Bowl. It's a lose-lose game for Alabama and they are playing like it. If Alabama wins this game, people don't forget the first quarter. Alabama has already lost... even if they win. Not that they ever could have. If Alabama wins, then it's no big deal. They do what they were supposed to. If Alabama loses, they aren't as good as everyone thought they were. What do they have to play for? I could care less anyway. I just like seeing John Parker Wilson get hit over and over. Give credit to Utah though. They are pretty talented no matter what happens. It's gotta hurt to know that Utah is a school that Urban Meyer turned into a Mountain West powerhouse.

Being a Alabama fan I was dissappointed with the results of the Sugar Bowl. Bascially Bama didn't show up to play in the first quarter. Even after falling behind 21-0 the team did fight back to cut the lead to 21-17 early in the 3rd qtr. However the defense let us down and let Utah drive the field and score a TD to make it 28-17. Hey the Tide lost. It hurts and I'm sure the players will have this to deal with more than the fans. I mean all we do is show up to watch the game. Its the players that practice and work out year round to have this chance so its got to be a big dissapointed for them.

ONE thing about the bowl games.... I'm a BAMA fan first and second I do root for all the other SEC teams that are playing in a bowl game. Just a reminder to you gator fans right now your on top. Enjoy the view because trust me there will be someone to knock you off the mountain top some day and you'll have the same feeling we Bama fans have now.

The future is bright for the Tide. Saban has another great class comming in. I think the general feeling was it was going to take him 3 years to get the program where he wanted it and he did it in 2. I think that next year will be even a better season for Bama. They do lose some key starters but heck everybody loses key people. No word yet on the pair from Georiga and who knows if Tebow will return or not. Like I said enjoy the view.

I don't think Tebow is going to go to the draft. He needs a quicker release or DBs will eat him alive. That said, Florida will not be the same without him. He reminds me of #7 a whole lot in his leadership. Even better actually.
