All the fudgers (packers) clearly have too much time on their hands after underacheiving by oh let's say 8 wins and a division champioship.  The reason for the Vikings not selling out until the last minute is 3 Fold. 1) Horrible Economic Conditions.  Many people didn't receive a bonus or salary increase this year.  2)  Horrible Previous Ownership- The Wilf's biggest challenge is getting the Red McComb "cheap monkey" off their back.  The Wilf's have stepped up and signed some big names to make this team a contender but it is difficult to overcome the stigma that Red "the tightwad" McCombs has passed on to this organization, which leads to to #  3)  The 1998 fiasco where we clearly were the best team in the league, but failed to make the superbowl due to horrific play calling and awful game management!  This leaves a sour taste for a long time, trust me I was there when the wheels fell off.

The game will sell out and it will be a test for the Eagles to deal with the crowd noise on Sunday, but if you haters want some reasoning we'll give it to you.

Since the Vikings have entered the league packer fans have envied the rapid success the Vikings achieved in the 1960s-70s. Vikings beat the packers at least once in both years the packers went to the superbowl in the late 1960s. In all honesty when growing up in the midwest I never meant someone who supported the packers. In southwest Minnesota, all of western Iowa, and some of eastern South Dakota the people were all Vikings fans, a few KC Chiefs fans, and a couple of Cowboys fans, but no packer fans. It wasn't until the mid nineties when GB, after nearly 30 years, finally had some success that packer fans started spouting off about how great of fans they think they are.
Yet interesting enough, all that Viking fans have been through over the decades with our team we are still here rooting them on but Viking fans are also not brain washed morons. When the product is mediocre and the ticket prices are high enough to not be within a budget during hard economic times, we'll stay home and pay our bills instead, but you damn well bet even if the game is a blackout on tv we'll be listening to the radio broadcast. Sweet Justice the way things have worked out in this 2008 season after the packer organization embarrassed themselves with the whole farva fiasco.

Purplepride1, are you serious? Viking fans have a reputation for being poor attenders that goes way back and is known across the country! We get the threatened blackout about 3 times/year (good or bad economy.. and are you saying that the twin cities can't support the relatively small metrodome with a full crowd?) This is the worst bandwagon city I've ever seen. Every year, preseason: We're going all the way! They win 3 of their first 4: This is the year! They drop the next two: The QB/Coach stinks, murder the bum!

It seams 11 other cities aren't having trouble with the economy this weekend and the twin cities are in better shape than most. Give it up, this isn't a football town.

Well, at least the Vikings lost, proving that Lady Justice is alive and well. Plus, look on the bright side. At least Brad Childress still looks like Col. Klink. They need to get rid of Tarvaris and Gus and find themselves somebody named Schulz just to complete the mistique.

Chilly: Schuuuulz!!!
Schulz: I know nossink!

Maybe in your neck of the (north)woods. During those 30 years, Lambeau field has been sold out with packed stadiums - even in the worst years. Was the Metrodome even sold out for the playoff game last week?
