Well, it turns out my blind homerism wasn't to far off. I mean Hell how much is a 30 vote difference in the grand scheme of things?
Rivere received to votes and finished in the top 6. No one on this site gave Rivers a fighting chance. I've read comments saying,"Rivers is a horrible QB", "Rivers sucks", "Rivers is a punk", "He's a product og LDT", and "He'll be benched after the season". Well he proved all of them wrong.
In a season where LDT was hampered by injuries, he had a shaky O-line, an injured star TE, and a D that had a tendency of giving up last minute game winning scores (4). Yet despite this he had the best year ever for a Charger QB, as he broke Dan Fouts single season record for TD's while having the highest QB Rating ever for a Charger QB.
He lead this team on a turn around of all turnarounds. He LEAD a team that started 4-8, into the play-offs with a 4 game winning streak (3 of the 4 weren't even contests). And dropped 52 on his arch rival, the COCKY Jay Cutler (I said it, he actually said his arm was stronger than Elway's.)
And he played the recipiant of the award this past Saturday in Peyton Manning, and of course Rivers won.
And in case you were wondering, Rivers is my pick to win the award next year. See you on the subject next year. ;-)
P.S. Any suggestions on possible TD topics I could use when Rivers eventually wins the award?

"And he played the recipient of the award this past Saturday in Peyton Manning, and of course Rivers won."
And did you not see Manning demolish him statistically? Rivers looked like garbage
Rivers: 217 tds 56% completion 0 tds 1 int 62 QB Rating
Manning: 310 yds 1 td o ints 60% completion 91 QB Rating
S.D. won on a coin toss at the beginning of the O.T....I don't think is was much of Rivers contribution to the game, rather than Sproles and 3 flags in O.T.
I will give Rivers credit for the season tho. Bad team all around with little help and the guy performed...

Actually Confucius, you are wrong. (yes, you)
Rivers didn't finish in the top 5 in MVP voting.
The top five vote-getters were Manning, Turner, Pennington, Peterson, and Harrison.

Rivers is "the man" in SD. He is a great QB and a proven winner and his record reflects it, unlike some "MVP" QB's who have a losing record in the playoffs.
Rivers was great against the Colts!! Their D took away the wide receivers and the deep threat and Rivers adapted very well and the running game opened up and Sproles was fantastic!!!

Thta's all nice, but you are leaving out a big factor.
Manning played against the Chargers pass D (one of the worst in the league). While Rivers went up against a Colts pass D that had allowed just 6 passing TD's.

Neither QB gets credit or blame for the defenses they performed against. Rivers is a punk who happens to have players around him that have the Colts number. His passing form looks like my daughter's.

I don't think the title of this blog is even grammatically correct. This just in...C0nfucius say "I like Rivers' pee-pee."
