What is your major mulfunction, Numbnuts?  Well, let me tell you.  First of all, had Oregon State decided to show up in their last game against Oregon, we would have all been blessed last night with the complete trashing of Texas by USC.  I'm so pissed that I didn't get to see Colt McCoy "feel" a little Brian Cushing.  So that would eliminate all of the whining by the babies from Austin.  It's said that a team is a reflection of their coach.  Case in point, USC and Pete Carroll and point #2 Texas and Mack Brown.  This proof solidifies that belief.  Oregon State decides to play the game of their life against the Trojans while getting hammered by Penn St. and putting up a whole 3 points in the Sun Bowl against Pitt.  Thanks alot Beavers.  I should mention that USC does not go without blame here.  Had they handled their own business I wouldn't even be writing this blog.

Now for the other loser, Alabama.  What a fraud.  After 'Bama had gone to Athens and embarrassed Georgia 31-0 at halftime, the talking heads jumped on board.  It didn't matter that Georgia was allowed to come back in that game.  It also didn't matter that Georgia is notoriously soft when intimidated.  Case in point #3, Mark Richt and Georgia.  If you know anything about football, you will admit that Alabama was never in that game.  They were chasing the entire night. Anyone who claims the Tide lost and Utah didn't win is BRAIN DEAD!  I would like to take this time to remind all of the Utah bandwagoners that save a last minute win at Michigan and 2 missed, chip shot field goals by TCU, we once again wouldn't be having this conversation.  So thank you Alabama.

Now, for final clarification and in interest of the truth, which is very uncommon in today's journalism world.  I am a born and bread Oklahoma Sooner fan who is claiming that USC is the best team in the nation.  I love my Sooners and can't wait to see the matchup with Florida but I honestly believe that the Mighty Trojans are head and shoulders above everyone else.  The problem is, one time a year they forget their heads and lose to a nobody.

I'm 45 years old and hope that I get to see a true 8 team playoff in my lifetime.  Hey, we're America, we can do anything.  Right?

Amen.

Although they did win, the hype of Texas made them look pitiful. If it was Penn State in Ohio State's shoes, the game would undoubtedly be the other way around.

Also, in Oregon State's defense, they were missing their two best players in both the Oregon game and the Pitt game. If the Rogers brothers were healthy, the scenarios you listed above would have likely been a bit more interesting. But then again, that just goes to show you that you shouldn't put all your money on one or two players. (See: Oregon, 2007)

there have been a lot of seasons lately where I hear sportscasters say that USC ...even though they are not in the NC game are the best team "right now"

.....i get sooo much hate from those comments.....people who already hate us...& maybe their team is #1 & wins the NC game....are furious!!

I love it....& I truly believe we are.....but the haters are gonna really be mad at thisone!!!

thanks for the post

The Oregon- Oregon state game was going to be lost with or without rogers because the defense for oregon state was so bad. The bowl game was all about the defense of Oregon state redeeming themselves and neither offense being productive.
I also believe USC is the best team in the country right now and has been the past couple years. The loss to Oregon state was really caused by USC not being prepared for the rogers until the second half.
I would love to see a playoff system for college football and because of that I'm rooting for Florida to win the title game. Although it doesn't matter because as long as bowl games earn millions of dollars for big companies, there wont be a playoff system.
