What do old head coaches know about steak? First, there was Don Shula's - Shula's steakhouses, now Mike Shanahan is trying his luck in the world of Restraunteering. He's putting the finishing touches on his 35,000 square foot house in the Denver area. It's because of this that he is not expected to take any head coaching positions this coming year in the NFL. He'll wait along with Bill Cowher and probably Mike Holmgren to see what develops in 2010. Since restaurants have a 60% failure rate, the odds are good that we will see "The Rat" Shanahan back on sidelines somewhere in 2010. (35,000 square feet? Yikes.I wonder what his heating bill looks like. Good thing he still has $20 million left on his contract with the Donkeys.) In the meantime, he should study Don Shula's road to success in the steakhouse business.
Uzzhuaia - No Intentes Volver atrás

Currently, there are 15 "Shula's America's Steak Houses", but that's just the beginning. There are 4 "Shula's 2 Steak and Sports" establishments as well as 1 "Shula's on the Beach". Then there are 7 Shula's 347 Grills. Don Shula's main partner in the business is his son Dave Shula. You remember Dave don't you? One season as a wide receiver and kick return "specialist"(the way the website describes him) for the Baltimore Colts? Dave Shula also coached the Cincinnati Bengals to an underwhelming 19-53 record over 4 and a half seasons. Which begs the question "How did he last 4 ½ years as coach?" Anyways, the NFL definitely wasn't his bag, but Black Angus Beef is something he has become very successful at.
The Offspring - Why Don't You Get a Job?
Lets figure the KVA (Kilovolt Amps) demand of one month in Mike Shanahan's new home. He's over 5,000' elevation there in Denver, so I'll use the rough California equivalent tables that should match up correctly, assuming he is using natural gas for heating and not electric. I will also assume central air conditioning load, just based on my limited knowledge of Colorado residences from my relatives. (Probably a more accurate estimation could be obtained from someone who works in Colorado, I'm just doing this for my own amusement, Ok?) The range of my tables are on the high end (3500 sq. ft) at 15.8 KVA to the low end (1000 sq ft) at 7.4 KVA. We subtract the low from the high (15.8-7.4) to get the demand range = 8.4 KVA. Next I'll subtract the size information calculated in the first step (3500-1000= 2500) to determine the square foot range. The next step is to divide the demand range by the square foot range. This then looks like this (8.4/2500 = .00336). I then multiply the result by the difference between the proposed square foot size and the smallest square foot size in the tables. Looks like this - .00336 X (35,000 - 1,000) = 114.24. This result plus the smallest demand in the table (7.4) create the estimated demand for the proposed home size. (114.24 + 7.4 = 121.64 KVA) An enormous amount of electricity being consumed by one home, to say the least. Once again, good thing he still is getting paid by Pat Bowlen, as we know the check from Al Davis is not in the mail.
In This Moment - Beautiful Tragedy

Shanahan's house includes a bowling alley and lounge, a poker room, a video-golf room, a racquetball court and a shuffleboard table. That's just in the basement where there are also 4 bedrooms. The main level of the house includes two studies, a gallery, a music and living room, a gathering room, a dining room, a conservatory, a kids' arcade and playroom, and two bedrooms, including a master suite with his and hers closets. There are six fireplaces; a 3,600-square-foot, six-car garage; a 2,150-square-foot guest house; a "wine residence" and guest house; a swimming pool; and two bridges. They bought the property from Janet Elway. I hate the Broncos and am a Raider fan until I die, but I totally wish Mike Shanahan were my dad.

Hey Thug nice piece of (work) on those pics, I love them. I know what you mean about shanahan, he's got alot of dough, but when you got 22 million coming your way for not working, who cares about the electric bill?
