After barely stomaching the 2008 season, and surviving the ridicule from my family and friends, I turned to the college football "second season", before the bowl season was officially over.

And to my amazement, Sherman has tackled my main concern and passed with flying colors.  Looking at Rivals.com...it seems as though the coach can recruit.  Or more importantly, hire guys that can recruit.  Van Malone and Buddy Wyatt can bring it.  5 star recruit RB Micheal from Beaumont and numerous other targets were landed by these two.  If we keep our commitments, Signing Day will be a day of hope.

Yeah, we have some more RBs in this class.  Can you have too many?  Ask USC...Pete C. loves getting the talent.  We have a little of everything in this class.  I only hope the D can run fast, and the O line can be mean.

An Aggie buddy of mine summed it up best.  And no offense to Trent Hunter.  He is what A&M is all about.  Give it your all and leave it on the field.  But if A&M is to matter again on a national stage, and re-take our position ahead of Baylor, OK. St., and TTech, Trent will need to be a contributor, not a starter.  Our talent needs to improve across the board.  In our glory days, we went over a decade with someone getting picked in the 1st round of the NFL draft, from Richmond Webb and Ray Childress to Greg Hill and Kevin Smith.  Now, just a few years removed from having zero players drafted, we need to beef up our talent.   We need to be excited/apprehensive come April draft day to see who we will lose.

Quick turnaround, a la Alabama, in our cards?  I wont' go that far yet.  But with a non-conference schedule of UAB, New Mexico, Utah St (all at home) and Arkansas in the Jerry Dome, 6 to 7 wins (maybe 8) and a bowl game should be realistic for 2009.

A&M really needs some work on offense, where there are a few bright spots, there's also alot of work to do. 6 wins is possible for the 09 season, but it won't be too easy to get there.

Our class, per Rivals, has slipped to 17.

Rivals has us in the low 20s after signing day. We need the talent and we need to develop the diamonds in the rough.
