Well gameday finally arrived.  We're going to catch the game at Gators; I thought it was a nice touch.  The blackened  gator tail is delicious.  We'll be munching on gator all evening long.  Hopefully the Sooners will be too.

Unlike all the fanboys out there who are sure one side or the other are going to win, I don't have a clue.  When two top teams play either team can win.  After hearing all the talk about Florida's defense, I watched the OU-TCU game last night, and feel much better.  OU scored 35 points on a higher ranked defense than Florida's, and the offense wasn't anywhere near late season form.  DeMarco Murray may be out, a justification given for picking Florida, but Oklahoma only netted 25 yards rushing in that TCU game.  When the run wasn't working, they just went up top and put up 411 yards passing on the 11th ranked passing defense.  Hell, TCU would have finished second if you throw out the Oklahoma game. Florida is 15th.  So if OU can put up 400+ yards on TCU, what logic dictates they can't do the same against Florida?  Gotta love the overconfidence of the Gator Nation.

OU beat Florida 34-0 last night in my traditional EA NCAA 09 simulation.  OK, it was on Freshman mode, and I was letting Lee Corso call the defenses.  I wasn't taking any chances.

An oblong ball takes funny bounces, so only a fool prognosticates on football.  So with that, here are my predictions for the game:

Prediction #1: In a scene eerily reminiscent of OU losing its best defensive player, middle linebacker Ryan Reynolds, during the OU-Texas game, Brandon Spikes will exit the game to injury, allowing OU to exploit the middle, just as Texas did against them.  Spikes injury won't be serious, thankfully.  Trainers will eventually remove Spikes foot from his mouth.

Prediction #2: Looking up at the sky after getting knocked on his fanny for the twelfth time, Tim Tebow will see God: and discover He is a Sooner.

Prediction #3: The Media will finally figure out Oklahoma is #1.  I've seen numerous references in the Media to "top ranked Florida".  The Gators are atop the AP Poll-but isn't this the BCS Championship Game?

Speaking of the Media, While they're at it, maybe the Media will quit slobbering on Tim Tebow's Oscar Meyer.

Prediction #4: Bob Stoops will still not get any respect.  Here is a coach who has had his team in the title game four times this decade.  The pundits are slobbering all over Urban Meyer, but Stoops has accomplished as much.

Prediction #5: Gator fans will finally shut up.

Prediction #6: Final score: Oklahoma 45-35.

Prediction #7: Longhorns will whine we stole that from them.  Oh hell, Texas will just whine.

Prediction #8: No matter what happens, life will go on.  Win or lose, there will be other games, other national championship games.  One of the great things about being a Sooner is we've been here before, and we'll be here again.

See ya' after the game...

Man Nostradamus, 0-8 on those predictions. Did you predict Stoops would cry on tv? Cuz that happened.

Mac,
I don't suppose the concept of parody means anything to you. Just to let you in on the joke, these predictions weren't meant to be taken seriously.

OHHHHHHHH, now its parody. Ok my friend, whatever makes you feel better. It seems you are starting to get used to the Oklahoma January letdown, because they have been pretty consistent it not showing up when it really counts. Oh well, at least Bradford got that Heisman, although he should let Sims hold on to it until next season and maybe, just maybe some that old Sooner magic will ruboff.

Agrippa,
39-33!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL!

Mac,
It was ALWAYS intended to be a parody. You're just slow.

We've won our share of national titles. I've been here many, many times. Sometimes we win, sometimes we don't. At least we make it here.

Eh man, whatever makes you happy. You seemed pretty convinced about Tebow and Meyer not being up to snuff before the loss yesterday. I like you say "We", did you they yesterday? did you ever play a down in an OU jersey? Are you really Brian Bosworth, another OU letdown?

No, actually I'm Elvis. But keep that between us, OK?

Not being a Sooner, you wouldn't get the "we" thing, and there's no way I could explain that to you.

Actually I have the greatest respect for Tebow as a player and Meyer as a coach, even before last night. If Oklahoma had not been playing in the game, I would have been rooting for that Florida team.

No whining here, Texas wins in January....enjoy 5th place and tell us how our *** tastes! way to represent the big 12, Choklahoma is a joke!

So did you play or not? If you didn't, don't say "we". You explain you're plight till you're blue in the face, but if never suited up for OU I don't think any of those players would say you're part of the team. Hate to burst your bubble, but that is the truth.
I wasted enough time with your nonsense. I'll be back next year to pick on you when "you guys" figure out a way to lose another bowl game.

Goodbye, Mac. You won't be missed. Don't let the door bump you in the **** on the way out.

Oklahoma was given the Big 12 south championship per the rules of the Big 12. OU destroyed Mizz and got their shot at the National Championship.
Bob Stoops has renamed OU to ChOklahoma! Give it up, Stoops cant win the Big Game and for proof just look at the Stoops' ChOklahoma bowl record for the past 5 years. So in the future when voters consider ChOklahoma for the big game maybe they should consider the past!!!!!!!!! May be Bob Stoops should start with a less bowl game, so he can grow into the big bowl games.
