Ok.. When I joined this group it was for the mere fact that I didn't agree with hardly any of Obama's policies. I didn't like his past associations with various individuals and was and still am still concerned about his past...  I admitted all along that when and if Obama became the President Elect I would scrutinize but also admit when I agreed with someonething he's said or done....

Well, this is one of those times that I've come across something from Obama that I agree with.... WASHINGTON AP

President Elect, Barack Obama, apparently plans a more aggressive approach than the Bush Administration to helping friendly nations get better at fighting terrorism within their own borders, the State Department's top counterterrorism official said.

Dell L. Dailey, who has led the counterterrorism office at State since June '07, told reporters Tuesday that he is encouraged by what he has seen and heard in multiple meetings with Obama's transition team.    'We do see the Obama admin being much , much more aggresive than maybe even their campaign actions indicated.' Dailey said, stressing that he was referring to wider and deeper U.S. engagement with other countries to counter terrorist threats rather than unilateral U.S. military action.

Dailey went onto say that the Bush administration's efforts to undermind Bin Laden has paid dividiends and has accomplished the act of cutting off the 'arms and legs' of al-Qaida and diminished their funding, terminating top leadership and taking away training sites.  "Al-Qaida has been beaten back into a smaller hole,' Dailey said, and the Obama administration needs to keep up the pressure.

O.K., I know it's a rarity but I do agree with Obama's 'apparent' plans to better train, equip and share knowledge with friendly nations when it comes to thwarting terrorism within their own borders. That beats the he\\ out of sending U.S. troops, who should be utilized protecting our own interests, to another country to help clean up their inability to protect themselves.

I do hope to see Obama get tougher on terrorism here and abroad and helping these other countries establish their own means of defense is a definitel good first step... Although, I DO NOT condone meeting with any rogue nation's leadership without pre-conditions. That's the only reason I'm wary of this idea because, in my opinion, it semi-opens the door to doing just that.....     Time will tell and we will see.....
