All you haters just need to shutup. T.O. is just speaking the truth. He says he needs to get the ball more for the team to be successful. Just look at the past two years. More catches, yards, and touchdowns...and guess what we are in the playoffs. Don't even bring up the he's been thrown to over a hundred times. Cause if you watch those games a lot of those passes were uncatchable. Romo just threw it "in the direction of T.O." so he wouldn't get a intentional grounding. Chris Carter is just jealous of T.O. Really don't know why he had a good career as well. But his latest comments should get him in the slammer. Saying he would "put a bullett in T.O." is just as good as a threat and if T.O. said the same thing directed towards Carter we would all have heard about this and everyone would want him in jail.
So Just Stay off of T.O.'s back. If your a true
Cowboys fan you would back whoever is on
your team and not boo your own player on
your homefield. You ain't no fan if you do that
Period.

I understand booing when someone is playing bad but when the fans booed T.O. when he was introduced just made me sick.

T.O. wasn't the only one who helped get the Cowboys to the playoffs and he wasn't the allow one who caused the Cowboys to miss the playoffs. There is a lot of blame that needs to be passed around fairly.

Owens is a superior athlete, of course, but he is also a human, albeit a selfish one. He is disruptive. I won't go as far as calling him a cancer, but he could shut his mouth and be discreet in what he says. Back in the early 70's we had one called Duane Thomas. He was a superior athlete as well, and very talented. But, he was as disruptive in his behavior as Owens is with his. There are similarities between the two, but also differences. The end result was basically the same. One refused to talk, and the other doesn't know when to quit. Either way, it's disruptive. The news media eats this kind of stuff up, regardless of whether it's true, or not, because it's "newsworthy". Thomas helped the Cowboys win their first SB and then he was gone. He lasted 4 years, with 3 different teams. If Owens had played back then, likely his career wouldn't be as long as it has been. I agree with Total Package.........Owens isn't all the problem, but he does contribute to it. This is a "team" sport and Owens, regardless of what he says and does, cannot win the game by himself. Plain and simple.
There is a need for discipline, and the coaches should shut off the players from the media for one thing, as much as possible, and keep their problems in house. When these problems become known, then every Tom, Dick and Harry has their own way of interpreting what was said, then you have several misquotes out there going around. Then hate and discontent creates problems in the locker room. When that happens, you have a 13-3 team falling to 9-7, and maybe another 5-11 if they don't get things corrected.

Shirt...TO's past is littered with him opening his mouth...this season, TO laid low...I actually respect the guy...he is the one athlete out there when asked a question that does not give a BS answer and because of that, people take what he says and blasts him.
So, let me get this straight...the media asks the question, the guy gives an honest answer and doesn't back down and then gets ripped by fans forever for it....give me a bleeping break!
Everyone right now seems to think the popular choices for a 9-7 season are either Jerry, Wade, Garrett, TO, Romo, or a divided locker room.
The real answer for all the issues is a small combination of all the above.
It took Garrett's lack of playcalling to provide Romo additional time to throw, therefore placing more blame on the oline and creating fumbles by Tony or getting him injured in the process.
Because of all this, TO then gets vocal (can not blame him) on the sideline...then with the team flopping like a dead fish, Wade's ho-hum attitude turns people off and makes them accuse the team of no heart.
In the end....it is a domino effect that was created by one simple thing:
PASS PROTECTION.
Protect Romo better and TO, Witten and Williams will get open....do not protect him and we will be 9-7 again and watch Tony on the sidelines for another 3-4 games due to more injuries.

Jeff;
If you will re read what I said earlier, you'll notice that I said Owens wasn't entirely the problem, and he's not. There's more wrong with this team than just Owens. I wholeheartedly agree that there are more problems with this team than one single player. Romo seems to have developed a lackadaisical attitude as well. Probably from all the sacks he went thru. Play calling, of course, and I've already mentioned other things in other blogs.
This team need to get on the same page. As of right now, they aren't even in the same book. The only player I saw that played like his butt was on fire and his hair was catching, was DeMarcus Ware. I think, when the Cardinals beat them in overtime, thus knocking Romo and McBriar out, their swagger started limping. Then the Rams handed them their butts on a platter, and Johnson not living up to the "SB" winner he is, it became a feast for the Rams. The team became leaderless. It stayed that way even after Romo returned. Of course they won a few more games, but they didn't play as dominant as they thought they were, or could be. Both sides of the ball were either on or off, but never at the same time , for the most part.
There are a lot of problems to iron out..........and no, it's not just one person, but if that one person has any influence over any others, and they are always whinning and complaining, it does get contagious. Or, in the case of Brad Johnson, when the team loses confidence in their QB, which they did with him, and probably after he threw his first, second and third interception, it's hard to get back, esp losing 3 of the 4 games Romo was out.
If each and every player got out there and did their job, and quit worrying about things they cannot control, such as injuries, then this team can win again. You and I are not much different in our assessments of this team.
In my opinion, Brad Johnson should be the next cut on the list. Retire him or something. Bollinger, I don't know whether to trust him or not. He's on his 3rd team in 6 years. Bring in a capable back up QB, one who can be trusted, regardless of price. The O line, of course, should be held accountable for every sack they give up. After Romo missing 4 games, you would think those guys would try to keep him upright, but they didn't. Get someone who will then.
Guess we shall see if they take my advice...............lol...........

I agree with you Shirt....Brad will more than likely retire or get cut...Bollinger is no more than a #3 on any team.
Dallas needs a backup QB for sure and it would not surprise me to see JJ bring in a solid one to push Romo.
The line is signed for years, so we are stuck there although they are not bad, its just difficult to block 6 or 7 rushers with 5 guys and that ends up making you look stupid.
That falls on Garrett.
Many things will need to change and I actually think they will...but, if the Boys do not net 1 playoff win next season, the entire staff will get cleaned out.
Personally, I hope Garrett takes another job this year b/c from what I have been reading on dallascowboys.com, Ray Sherman was a solid offensive coordinator in Minny and Atl...I would like to see what he can do before an entirely new staff comes in.

T.O. needs to G.O. I crossed my fingers when he went to Dallas but it's over. He's getting older. He doesn't get off the line as fast as he once did. He's reached the point of diminishing returns. He doesn't know when to shut up. Punch his ticket and let him go wreck another team.

True Cowboys and Lifelong Fan - you 2 can't be serious. T.O. no work effort, slow, all talk and no work - are you freekin kidding me? The guy spent 16 games fighting off at least 2 defenders. J. Garrett did nothing to alter his play calling or to use the R. Williams to alleviate some of the pressure from T.O. I agree with Jhart24 and BullShirt both, the boys have a lot of issues on their team and T.O. is not the biggest or the only problem albiet that is what ESPN and clowns like you think. The Cowboys lack discipline - plain and simple, and Marshmallow Wade is not the guy to give it to them. He would make a great D-CO but he sucks as a head coach. The boys need someone who can provide them discipline at every position and also corral the talent on offense. The O-line was undisciplined and unaccountable for their bonehead mistakes. There were games when you had at least 4-5 false starts by the O-line and when they were not getting penalties, they were mising blocking assignments (blame Garrett for that one - 5 guys can't block 7-8 rushers). If the Cowboys take on some accountability for get some discipline, they are a superbowl contender -hands down. The big D in Dallas this year should be DISCIPLINE - ENOUGH SAID!!!!!

True Cowboys and Lifelong Fan - you 2 guys must be crazy - no work ethic, slow, all talk and no work - you are freekin-crazy. This guy has the best work ethic in the league. He spent the entire season fighting off 2 defenders and to the point of him being thrown to a hundred times - a lot of those passes wer uncatchable. The Cowboys have a lot of problems but heir biggest problem is DISCIPLINE. The team lacks discipline across the board and no one holds them accountable. With the second largest O-line in the league and all of the athletes (weapons) Barber, T.O., Williams, Witten, Felix Jones(healthy) there is no way any team in the lague could key on their offense. J. Garretts play calling was terrible and caused problems with blcoking schemes, the o-line made too many boneheaded mistakes with false start penalties and the D-backs are suspect at best. J Jones needs to hire a coach with a passion for winning and one who can make each player accountable for their play and slap some discipline on the entire team. They also need to limit the layers contact with the media - (any comment from a Cowboys player - is misinterpreted and blasted acrosss the media) If the boys get a some discipline and better play calling - they are a Super Bowl contender out the gate - without DISCIPLINE - they will be exactly what we saw this past season.

I'm hoping the Lions will hire Garrett......w/o Sparano, Garrett's play calling left a lot to be desired. He never really impressed me when he was the backup QB back in the day, although he did have a good game or two in relief of Aikman. Just because he's a Princeton graduate, doesn't mean he's has common sense. One can be smart and intelligent and still lack common sense. I am surprised that, after all was said and done, they didn't lose more than 7 games this year.
I think that, for every sack given up this coming year, the O line should be held accountable somehow. Fines? Extra practice? Something. I agree with the media thing as well. Limit the access. No vacations til the season is over. Guess we shall see.
