As I'm watching the BCS game after working out, I just had to put this list together because some things just tick me off. Being a completely unbiased Yankee fan and listening to what all 30 teams are doing 24/7, I happen to hear a lot of the media in New York. I got to tell you. After reading this list, do not listen to these three. At all. Final. Believe me, you will be physically sick when you do, because the way they always stand by the Yankees and not the other team is pathetic. New York has the worst opinion on sports, period. After you read this, you'll agree with me.
For starters, here is the top three in no particular order:
- John Sterling- The "radio" voice of the Yankees, or is that Bob Sheppard at Yankee Stadium? I don't know, but one thing I know is that no one should listen to games on the radio because his commentary is not only unnesscessary, but it is ridiculous how he praises the Yankees even when they don't make the playoffs like last year. The worst part is that he carries that witch around that sounds a little like a female version of Scott Ferrall (oh wait, her name is Suyzn?). God, her praising of Roger Clemens coming back and tearing (aka, overreacting) to Joe Torre leaving New York (this is all amazingly on youtube, btw if you what to take a look) should get her kicked off for having that man-voice of hers. I wonder if she got her ovaries removed (an ode to my boys, Opie and Anthony)
- Michael Kay- This one is sad, because not only do I like listening to ESPN 1050, The Jim Rome Show, and Mike and Mike in the morning, but I watch all summer long the YES network to get in touch with the Yankee games while I'm not working. The broadcast team is pretty good. Ken Singleton is a class act, a classy guy, who I'd would put in my hall of fame for being a guy with a lot of integrity. Also, David Cone, Paul O'Neill, Al Leiter, and John Flaherty are all good players who make so-so analyists. But Michael Kay is in his own category. No no no, Michael Kay, no matter who gets beaned, will stand by the Yankees even if they're wrong. Indeed, they hired good analyists, but WRONG play by play guy. Get the picture? For example, when Torii Hunter shoved Pudge Rodriguez during an Angels/Yankees game last year, Pudge instigated the whole incident by giving him a shove in the back after he tagged Hunter. There's no question; they hired a Yankee fan, who stands by the Yankees no matter if the Red Sox got beaned in a rivalry game, who is utterly ridiculous. However, on a side note, he does have a nice girlfriend (At a Bruce Springsteen concert, I don't know what it was, but I was sitting in front of him and I could not believe how smoking hot his date was. But that is for my radio show, not on FanNation. Sorry.)
- Mike "The Fat Man" Francesa- Oh Yes. The Coca-Cola Drinking, Die-Hard, New Yorker. Typical of New York media. Give a guy millions of dollars to give his opinion on New York Sports and stick to it even if New York sports sucks and every other market of sports teams are on a higher level. WFAN has gone completely down the toilet letting go of Chris Russo, you know, "Mad Dog." Indeed, you can make an argument, but Russo WAS the show, not Fat Man. Fat Man only gave his opinion on Yankee sports and completely ignored how better other teams were last year. It just goes to show you that New York Sports have bad representatives of media. Embarrassingly enough, they had one guy talking about the Plaxico shooting named Fat Man Scoop. Hmmm, coincidence? I don't think so.

Though, I would not be as critical on big Mike these days on WFAN, this is a great blog post! The NYC tri-state area sports media is a collective joke. The all-time typical, Ugly American, pack of egos that tell you everyday, NYC is the only place on earth and its teams are the only ones playing. For those die-hard NY fans who live in the tri-state area and disagree with this, you simply need to get out of the armpit of the East Coast (or simply go online elsewhere other than the Post and Daily News), and read, listen, or hear the sports media in other markets. They're laughing at us every day, rightfully so for how far up our own **** we have placed our heads with Yankees, Giants, Jets, Mets, etc. propaganda.

literally, it's like communism: You do and say one thing and stand by it, and if you go against it, you'll be shut down. Glad you agree.

As an outside observer, what is it with the "east coast bias" thing going around?? During the season, "PTI" talks about NYY/Bos games like there isn't any other games.
