After a dreadful tie game with the Bengals, this writer was thinking "Stick a big fork in them, the Philadelphia Eagles are done..."

I would not have believed that the Eagles would make the playoffs. I would not have believed that the Eagles would go 4-1 in their last five regular season games. I would not have believed that the Eagles would absolutely demolish the Dallas Cowboys 44-6. I would not have believed that the Oakland Raiders would upset the Tampa Bay Bucs on the last day of the season, which, when coupled with the Chicago Bears improbable loss that day, fulfilled the statistical magic that allowed the Eagles to qualify as the final Wild Card team in the NFC.

And here we are, the weekend after the Eagles defeated the Vikings in Playoff Round #1, awaiting the Eagles game against the defending Super Bowl champions - the New York Giants. Who would have thought it possible?

And Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid still have a chance to become Super Bowl Champs even though many fans thought that this might be their final season together in Philadelphia. Wow! All they have to do is beat the Giants Sunday, then defeat the remaining NFC team in the playoffs the following week, and then defeat their AFC adversary in the Super Bowl. Just 3 more games to win....

Can they really do it? Past history would suggest a big NO WAY!

But, you know what, it wouldn't be any more improbable then what they have already accomplished in the past several weeks! What the h*ll, our Phillies became World Series champs in 2008. How unlikely was that! So, yes, I do look for the Eagles to beat the Giants Sunday, win the NFC the following Sunday, and win the d*mn Super Bowl too! Who would have thought .....
