I'm looking for discussion today, rather than just reading. The reason is, its a subject that there are 100 different opinions on, so I'm looking for YOURS. I'll take everything I get in comments below and write a full blog by the end of the week on the subject.
The TOPIC is Ace-King. Or A-K if you prefer.
It is my honest believe that A-K is the most overplayed, overrated hand on the face of the earth when it comes to Texas Hold Em. People play it like it is quad Aces, raising all in with it, or even worse, calling every all in with it, regardless of the situation, chip stack, or point of the tournament.
That being said, every professional that has ever written a Hold Em poker book will tell you that A-K is the 5th best starting hand when it is suited, and 8th best when it is unsuited. So it is a top 10 hand no matter what.
So tell me how you play it. Will you call any all in with it? Will you raise all in with in most times? Just how great of a hand is it?
And to help you, here are the top 10 starting hands in poker:
AA
KK
JJ
AKs
AQs
TT
AK
AJs
KQs
Please note: FRIGGING Q-10 ISN'T ON THE DA*N LIST! Sorry, but many players need to be told this.
So...the discussion is yours.
