In case you didn't notice, the hearts of Ute's fans across the nation were broken on friday when they read the final AP poll results that listed Florida the #1 team in the nation. Florida claimed the top spot with a 24 - 14 win over Oklahoma in the National Championship game, and moved thier record to 13 -1 . Utah however went undefeated in the regular season and defeated the #4 team Alabama in the Sugar Bowl to once again become BCS busters. Utah finished with the #2 ranking, not bad for a team that wasn't ranked to start the season and slowly creeped there way to the #6 ranking entering the Sugar Bowl. The Ute's play in the Mountain West Confrence, and earned wins against #7 TCU, #18 Oregon State and #25 BYU. The Ute's also claimed wins against 3 bowl teams, out of those teams 2 won there bowl games. In the end, Utah went against the #2 ranked TCU defense and prevailed with a win, and also defeated the only team to beat USC in Oregon State. There's no doubting Florida as a legitamate national champion however as they had a wonderful season with wins against Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, and LSU with there only loss coming to the #15 ranked Ole Miss in a 30 - 31 game. Florida steam rolled through the regular season and shut down the record setting Oklahoma Offense in the title game. Florida's dominance is the reason why Utah only seeks a share of the title and not the whole thing. After all, its hard to argue against a team that went undefeated in Division 1 football and dominated a team that had been # 1 for half of the college footbal regular season.

I totally agree taht Utah should be #1 or at least tie!!!!!! But 2nd or worse even lower....a sad fact of unfairness!! Sorry!

Utah is a great team. However, until there is a playoff, the national champion is determined by the BCS. Sorry for your pain, but that's just the way it is.

Also -- you might want to get yourself a grammar book and learn the correct use of the apostrophe.

Utah is a great team, no doubt. However, until we get a playoff, the BCS determines the national championship. Sorry for your pain, but that's just the way it is.

Also -- you might want to go out and get yourself a book of grammar and learn the correct use of the apostrophe.

if utah keeps this up they are going to get what they ask for, and have to play a real schedule, with real teams and not the cheerleader schedule that they have been playing and barely winning , i mean take a good look at Hawaii, thats what happens when you play here, so cry all you want your, sos is what got you, who cares if you go 13-0 it doesnt count when you play in a girls conf, and barely win at that, i mean Michigan are you kidding me ... come on!!!!!!!!!!!

a playoff are you kidding, then whats the point of a regular season. if you have a playoff, that would mean what ever you do during the regular season doesnt matter so whats the point. thats just plain ignorant, get in a real conf or join the bcs but what ever you do stop CRYING!!!!!!!!!!!
