I couldn't remember being excited for a San Fransico 49ers season. Over the past 4 seasons I have had to sit back and watch both the Rams and Seahawks go to the superbowl and actually watch the 49ers pick 1st in the draft. At one point I was actually rooting for losses so we could get Reggie Bush....

I ofter remember the last time the 49ers were in the playoffs. It was a sad day sort of like the end of a dynasty because that offseason Mooch was fired and Terrell Owens became started becoming TO. Dennis Erickson was hired and the rest was history...But then I remember the last playoff win. Thanks to the Power of Tivo and NFL Network(two of the top-10 inventions of the decade) I was able to relive the game in it entirety with no interruptions, in-game interviews, dumb commericials. I hoped in my DeLorean and decided to go back and revisit one of the greatest games i have ever witnesses enjoy

Aw yeah baby. Its January 5th, 2003. Gas is about $1.70, Global Warming just starting to kick-in, and President Bush approval rating is about 60%. Wow times have changed. Anyway its 4:00 and the last game of an exciting wild-card weekend. We have Joe Buck, Troy Aikmen, and Cris Collinsworth in the booth play calling Live from 49ers stadium. Lets get this playoff game started.

14:38 A kickoff return Lands the Giants at about the 24 and a Tiki Barber run puts them at the 34 one play later. The 49er Defense looks okay with Okefor, Young, Stubblefield up front, Ulbric, Smith and Peterson at Linebacker, and Plummer. Parrison, Bronson, and uhhh Mike Rumph?? Webster is out...Doesn't look good already

10:30 Giants now in 49ers territory. Not looking good so far. Kerry Collins is 4-4 with 30 yards and Barber has 2 runs for 4th down. Shockey has already started to get annoying.

10:10 YEAAHHH. Ron Dayne with the drop over the middle, a little Tip Drill Later and thier Julian Peterson with the Pick. Good Ol Julian Peterson. I hope we keep him for a while

10:00 WOW WOW WOW. 1st play of the game Garcia to Owens 76 yards for the TD. Watching TO play in a 49ers uniform is like remember that really fine girlfriend you use to have. Yeah you have memeroies with her....but she was a B**ch to deal with. But they are still times you wish you were with her..anyway 7-0 49ers

9:15 After gettin the ball back, I learn that Kerry Collins has a 0/9 TD/INT ratio in his 109 attempts. Mike Rumph tries his best to help him with the TD part letting Jeremy Shockey get a 15 yard completion. It all about this U right

7:30 J-Pete almost with another pick. O watch out with that Push up on the ball routine. You know you can't use the ball as a prop anymore

6:20 a punt and a Barlow Run later we see the 49er offense. Dees Heitmann, Newberry, Stone, Gragg, Owens, Streets, Hearst, Beastly, Garcia. I would with run that on madden '03 anyday.

5:30 Not to much luck on 3rd-and-7 when Beasley catches a two yard pass. I expect more from the team with the best 3rd down conversion percentage. O well. A sideline reports tells us the story of how Jeremy Shockey threw a cup of ice at the audiance. I'm Hating Jeremy Shokey all over again...I mean for the first time

2:45 After a punt, A facemask, Tiki Barber, Mike Rumphs coverage the Giants find themselves at the 41. We have a Jim Mora Jr. Sighting. I was thinking about how we should of kept him as D coorinator untiled they showed that the 49ers had the worst 3rd down defense in the NFL...hmmm....on the other hand let him go. He will be happier coaching the Huskies anyway. O yeah 1st down into the 26 with Amani Toomer catch

1:15 Mike Rumph makes a play. Well sorta, Shockey just dropped a pass. I'm Guess Mike Rumph may have yelled something, anyway 3rd down once again.

1:10 and Once again 1st down. As much as I am talking about Mike Rumph the real story here is Ahmed Plummer. It's his 4 catch allowed.

2ND QUARTER

14:20 Well it didn't take long for the Giants to get the ball back and do something with it. Tiki Barber takes the left side line from the giants 39 to the 49ers 32. 1st down.

13:51 $hit! Jememy Shockey catches a pass takes a Zach Bronson hit, spins off, and goes after Julian Peterson before the refs call him down at about the 1 inch line. Of course he is coming with the trash. All in all tight play if Jeremy Shockey wasn't on going to go in my Hall OF Hate

6:05 The game gets a little interesting. TO reverse completion to Tai Streets for 20 yard to get the 49ers to the 9. Another Garcia scrables put the 49ers at the one inch line. Beasley comes up short. Barlow tries, fails, but Mooch challenges.....OVERTURNED. DMX "Up In Here" starts blarin threw 49er stadium. Playoff time baby. 14-14

2:54 Never mind takeover time. Cedric Wilson Muffed punt inside the 10 yard line. Wow this guy sucks. He will never lead all recievers in catch for the 49ers. The 49ers will go 2-14 before that happens

2:49 Amain Toomer touchdown. Ahmed Plummer QB rating is 158.3 with going 5-5 with 43 yards and 2 TDS. 21-14

1:54 Now is the time for a deep breathe. Jason Sehorn with an interception, Giants get the ball back at thier own 45. 49er nation take a collective sigh

:10 A holding call doesn't help when Tiki Barber catches a 30 yarder over the middle. Giants now at the 25. Of course Kerry Collins goes back to his BFF Ahmed Plummer who reminds all how to face-guard AND let off the touchdown. 28-14 Giants Going into HalfTime

14:30 Eric Johnson, Garrison Hearst, and Jeff Garcia combine for 17 yards. Fox shows the 29-4 Stat of plays in oppenents territory. I must say the worst thing when your team is losing is one of those random stats that just rubs it in.

12:20 OOoo. TO makes a catch near the sideline about an inch away from the sideline. I say give it to Garcia or Barlow. You can't go wrong with those two

12:00 Or do that.......Fred Beasley gives us his best Lendale White impression. Well Techinally Lendale White gave us his best Fred Beasley impression but it doesn't matter Giants Ball at thier own 45.

10:51 Amani Toomer shakes Ahmed Plummer hand after another catch allowed. I'm happy to see Ahmed is a such a friendly guy.

9:53 A couple a Barber runs the inevitable touchdown comes and the 49er crowd is stunned. I am trying not to be shocked but it not looking good. 35-14 giants

9:30 Garcia turns to the hurry-up offense. quick showing of his stats we know he is 8-15, 125 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT. We are also reminded that the last playoff game he won was for the Grey Cup. I be the first to say it's not looking good. Espicall after a Eric Johnson Drop. Another Punt.

7:40 Some guy name Ron Dixon just beat Mike Rumph for a 1st down. I always wonded could Mike Rumph guard stationary objects. I should expect more from someone who learned from Ahmed Plummer.

5:30 (shaking head)...1st and goal Giants. I belive Mike Rumph and Ahmed Plummer are in a competiton at this point....And why are the Giants in the redzone let alone the 5 yard line. Wow this is grim. This better not be some gatorade commercial or something stupid. I'm actually starting to worry forreal (In my real life timeline this is the point I stood up, walked outside of my house and picked up the biggest rock just waiting for anyone to say the words Plummer, Jeremy, Barber, Kerry, Playoff, or football)

4:55 WOW very very very close one. Jeremy Shockey drops a pass in the back of the Endzone. 49er fans go nuts. (In real life I was still outside with my rock cussing out the world)

4:40 WOW very very very very close again. Jeremy Shockey catches it but lands out of bounds. Bring out the kick team. We still have a chance right..(in real life I threw the rock after seeing the shockey-play. The Rock put a hole in our wall and the play was called imcomplete. I still have that rock today for obvious reasons) Anyway 38-14 Giants.

2:00 "I love me some me" TO throws off Jason Sehorn on his way to the Endzone. Garcia gives the internation signal for peace

2:00 TO once again finds the endzone but this time its only for two. TO says something and Michael Strahan reminds him to look at the scoreboard. I think i speak for all 49ers nation when I say "f*** you Michael Strahan" Go eat a sandwhich...

:45 The crowd is getting into it. Tiki Loses 2 yards an imcomplete pass to shockey and a sack by none other than Julian Peterson. God I hope we keep him. O well, 4th and 15. Bring out the Punt team. BTW that was the 49ers 1st 3-and-out of the game

:36 Don't you kinda know when a football comeback is coming. Well this may had been the play before the you knew the comeback was coming. Some guy name Sutherland makes a fair catch and Bohami Jones grabs his leg and Sutherland Flops! 15 yard penalty! 1st down 49ers at the 34. We find out the 49ers are 1-13 when losing going into the 4th quarter. Not looking good but the 49ers are definetely on the right track. Lets go...

4th quarter 14:55 Jeff Garcia Fakes hand off and takes off down the sideline...and TOUCHDOWN. Even Better we see Jeff Garcia and Terrell Owens hug. It almost brings a tear to my eye. Jeff once again tells everybody peace.

14:55 TO in the endzone again. I remember this was the Play I knew the comeback was happening. Michael Stranhan look at the scoreboard now bioatch....

13:30 Barber loss on the run, Campbell catches a 2 yard pass and a pass is almost intercepted. HAHA. Bring out the punt team. Lets go Niners

12:45 Garcia to Owens over the middle for the 1st down. Only if Jeff Garcia didn't have a lisp....And TO wasn't a****.

11:58 Cedric Wilson tries his best to lose the game. Um seems to be his thing. A near fumble is looked at but the play stands although somehow it was not a review. It doesn't matter 1st down Niners

11:20 Serious Johnny Drama now. After a Eric Johnson Catch and a failed QB sneak its decision time for the 49ers. 49 yard field goal or go for it. Always trusted Mooch in these situations. Anyway my heart is pumpin(I don't know how I survived this game as a 15 year old. All I remember was holding on to the rock and not sitting down)

9:00 Now its interested. TO had a catch puttin the Niners within the 10....But then he drops a surefire touchdown. Why TO why, you were doing so well o well third down time..
