07:53 PM ET  01.12 | There's "NO WAY" Jim Rice deserves to be a Hall of Famer more than Steve Garvey.. What is wrong with people. Is everyone too young to remember the 10=970s.. Garvey was the 1974 NL MVP, 2-time All Star MVP (when the all star game meant something), 10 straight All Stars, 4 golden gloves, 2 NLCS MVPs, 5 World Series appearances, 1,207 consecutive games played. He was a write in candidate for the 1974 All Star game. Not only did he start and play, he was the MVP of the game. Garvey was an icon for the 1970s.. They talk about how great the Cincinatti Reds were, Garvey led the Dodgers to the World Series 4 times in that great Reds era. He took the San Diego Podres to their first franchise World Series and they retired his jersey no. The Hall of Fame is an absolute joke until Steve Garvey is elected... period.
