Okay you guys, if you look back at my latest three blogs after this weekend, you will see that I predicted a Eagles-Steelers Super Bowl once the final playoff seedings were announced.
Eagles over CARDS
Jim Johnson's defense will handle Warner and Co. I watched JJ's D all year, including against my Steelers earlier this year, and they laid the wood to opposing QBs. They sacked Big Ben 9 times and held the Steelers to six points very early in the year.
I think this game will be close because Arizona has an outstanding homefield advantage. They even have extra seats than normal because they added seating that is still there when they hosted the Fiesta Bowl. However, I dont see Donovan McNabb and Co. turning the ball over against Arizona's D, so Philly should own the field position advantage.
STEELERS over Ravens
These teams have met twice this year, Steelers winning both. What is most telling is this stat: since the beginning of the 3rd quarter of the FIRST game, the Ravens have scored a total of 16 points against the Steelers D in the most recent 6 quarters. Thats an average of less than a field goal a quarter.
Joe Flacco wont make a bunch of mistakes, but he wont be leading enough scoring drives either. Ben, Willie, Hines, Heath Miller, Troy Polamalu, etc have all been here as a unit before and walked away getting to the big game and even holding up the big trophy. Nobody on the Ravens offensive unit was part of their 2000 Super Bowl run. Experience will be the difference.
Tell me your thoughts please.
