Led by D.J. Posley's 17 points, UCSB beat Central Coast rival Cal Poy 72-62. Jordan Weiner also had 14 points, while 12 of those came in the first half. Posley scored 11 out of his 17 in the 2nd half. The first half was a pretty evenly matched game with Cal Poly having two six point leads but the Mustangs did trail at halftime 33-27. But from the beginning of the 2nd half to 7 minutes to go, UCSB outscored Cal Poly 22-14. The closest Cal Poly got the rest of the game was 61-56. UCSB ended the game in a 11-6 run. In addition to Posley's 17 points, D.J. also had a career high 7 rebounds. Greg Somogyi had 8 points, six of which were on SLAM DUNKS! Chris "The Man" Devine scored 8 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a season high 4 steals. The Mustangs were led by Shawn Lewis who had 16 points and nine rebounds. Lorenzo Keeler and Chaz Thomas each added 13. UCSB improves to 8-9, 2-3 BWC while Cal POly drops to 3-12, 0-5 BWC.
