Often on this site the discussion around announcers is "who's the worst", and as much fun as that conversation is, I thought I'd try and make it positive.  So, instead I'm going to throw out some of my favorite announcers...I apologize as I'm sure some of these people quite a few of you haven't heard of, because they're local announcers.  So, without further adieu let's get to it...

Jack Bennett- He does Wisconsin Division 3 college basketball broadcasts on FSN Wisconsin.  He knows his college basketball, really great to listen to.

Bill Schroeder- He's the analyst for Brewer games on television.  He and Brian Anderson are incredibly entertaining together..makes for a great time watching Brewer games.

Hubie Brown- The man knows basketball, it's really great to watch him talk about basketball.  He has such a passion for the game, and it really shows, at least to me, when I watch one of his games.

Phil Simms- At first I didn't like him, but he's a great NFL analyst.  A lot of great insights about the games.  In my opinion, is one of the least annoying NFL analysts.

Jim Jackson- Is a basketball analyst for the Big Ten Network.  He brings a lot of knowledge to the studio and to the games that he's analyzing

Bob Eucker- He's the voice of the Brewers, and when I've had to listen to Brewer games it's always incredibly entertaining.  He's always incredibly amusing to listen to, really a great time to listen to.

Ron Franklin- Whenever he does a play by play I know it's always going to be pretty good.  He's really into what he does, and it shows.

Wayne Lerrivee- Not only is the radio play by play guy for the Green Bay Packers, but also does football and basketball games for the Big Ten Network.  Just a great broadcaster.

Matt LePay- He's the radio play by play guy for Wisconsin Badger football and men's basketball.  Is just great to listen to.  He and Badger athletics go hand in hand for me.

Gus Johnson- He could make watching someone sleep seem like the most amazing thing ever.  That's really why I like him...just how excited he is by what's going on.

So, who are some of your favorites?  As much as everyone loves to talk about the horrific announcers, a great announcer can make a great game better.

Nice call on Hubie Brown, here in Pittsburgh its Lang. The guy symbolizes Pens hockey, and of course Cope.
