The Seattle Mariners hope to return to the seasons of winning baseball by obtaining a new manager in Don Wakamatsu the former bench coach of the Oakland Athletics. The 2009 Mariners added some pitching from a trade with the New York Mets and Cleveland Indians. The players picked up for Seattle were pitchers Aaron Hielman, Jason Vargas, and Maikel Cleto. As well as outfielders Endy Chavez, Ezequiel Carrera, and infielder Mike Carp. The M's also obtained Russell Branyan from Milwaukee. The main losses are J.J. Putz and Jeremy Reed to the Mets. Hopefully someone out of the bullpen will step up this spring and takeover the job of closer. I see an interesting season, as long as the pitching can hold up and the offense can score some runs we should see at least a 500 season and hopefully being in contention of the wild card. I feel we are a year or two of fixing things up and becoming a contender again. With the Rays season last year I believe anything is possible now. Keep posted to my blog I will try to update it once a week until spring training. When Spring Training starts I will work on daily. Any comments you have let me know. I look forward to an exciting season.
