This topic has been thrown out there quite a fair amount in the media of late. One of the talking heads at NFL network(Jamie Dukes) specifically seems to keep bearing down on this concept. The thing that this gentleman has not watched is the games being played. In the Jet game they were harassing Moss and Welker effectively with doubles so the majority of the FOUR HUNDRED passing yards were to Watson, Gaffney et all. Only 10 of the 30 completions were to Moss and Welker totaling 134yds of his 400. The remainder of the year teams did not regularly attempt to double both recievers as it clearly failed. People did not challenge Cassel to throw to the lesser options because he coudl make the throws. If Cassel was such a horrible player only benefiting from those he threw too, the opposition would have been doubling Moss and Welker all day every day. If you watch that Jet's game Watson and Gaffney were clearly underpreforming and yet teams still did not force Cassel into throwing to them. So former offensive lineman talking head, please refer only to things you know. If you're going to rail against the overpayment of players please begin with the truly sensible rookie contracts and stay out of the way of a man who has clearly paid his dues.

It's such an irritatingly silly concept. People aren't saying Warner is a hobo with good people around him. Warner stunk for multiple season with his fumblitus and all but I don't think he's bad.
