Barry Bonds left the Giants last year. Unfortunately for the Giants, even after Bonds departure, they were still their team. The Giants were always compared with or without Bonds. Many positives were ignores including the steller pitching staff with Lincesum, Cain, Sanchez and Zito. Young prospects were blooming (Frandsen, Sandoval, Fred Lewis, Velez, Burriss) But instead of talking about this, it was still all about Bonds and his steroid use.
I belive that changes this year.
With Sabean's aggresive off-season, which by the way isn't done yet, the Giants are finally contenders again. When a team is good, the positives are shown. The Giants have youth and the best pitching staff in the league. They also have a very good closer in Brian Wilson. Bonds is out of the picture and the Giants will finally win. No one talks about Bonds anymore. The negativity about him is gone in the City by The Bay. Bonds takes his distractions with him as he leaves and the Giants can finally focus on the most important thing: Winning.
FINALLY, he's gone
