Superbowl Pick 2009 | drj0514's Blog

After a solid year again in college football, I move to the superbowl. I have watched the superbowl since Miami had their perfect season. My record for picks is 19-5. I will once again make my prediction:

Pitt- Their solid defense has returned and they seem stronger every week. The offense has had amazing moments but have also struggled at times. Big Ben seems to have found his groove and the offense may explode in this game. Ward is injuried and not 100%, this may make the game interesting. On paper they are the best team and should win big.

Arizona- Warner has always had a nice touch on the ball but has struggled being consistent and staying a starter. He seems to have brought back the magic and seems to be "young" again in movement and passes. Of course Fitz is amazing and will only get better. Pitt has to have a plan with a zone or Fitz will have a huge game. The question is can Boldin act like a team player and perform? He may make the game interesting and be a huge help to Fitz in coverage. The defense has had moments but has struggled in most games. Can they finally play well and stop Pitt?

I see this as a game that Pitt may struggle on offense but there defense will show up, big time. It will come down to big third downs and Ward. I also think Warner can be shaken if they play solid coverage. If they rush allot and try to affect him that way, he will have a huge game.

Though I think Pitt is the overall better team, I do believe this will be another shocker and Fitz will have a huge game. Kurt knows this is his last shot, he will be ready. Big Ben may have a solid game and certainly will have many more shots at a ring. Sometimes when the winner looks clear and we talk history, 6 superbowl wins out of seven. The opposite happens and the other team shocks the world. Can I hear an AMEN Pats and Giants???

Well, I am 19-6 but the Cards made a real run in the 4th.. the Steelers were clutch in big moments.. the 100 yard INT alone deserves a clap... great season for both.. Congrats Steelers!
