Isaiah Thomas is a lot like Isiah Thomas

Isaiah Thomas is a 5-8 180 pound point guard at the University of Washington. He is currently leading the huskies in scoring (16.5), despite being only a freshman. Thomas scored 24 points and hit 3 threes in an upset of #13 UCLA last Saturday. What is interesting about Isaiah Thomas is that he is a lot like the other Isiah Thomas , the one that played for the Indiana and The Detroit Pistons. Both dominate the floor despite being much smaller than most of the players guarding them, both enjoyed storied high school careers (Isaiah averaged 28.2 ppg in his last season a South Kent) and they bother wore the number 11 in high school. Isaiah's dad, James Thomas saw Isiah Thomas play in the 88-89 NBA finals. Growing up in Inglewood, he was a huge Lakers fan, and was so sure that the Lakers would win, that he bet a friend that if the Pistons won, he would name his next born son, Isaiah. James Thomas like the name and stuck with it, maybe for the better. Isaiah has said he hasn't felt the pressure of being compared to Isiah, and Washington is in first place in the Pac-10, maybe we should all name our son's after NBA players. leave comments here www.collegebasketball247.blogspot.com
