I sit here in my dorm room watching the big game. A couple friends around, but no big deal. I am beginning to wonder to myself, are we as a society forcing people to watch football?
Let's be honest. How many of us are Pittsburgh Steelers or Arizona Cardinals fans? Most of our teams were eliminated in week 8, or like my favorite team, shocked by a divisional rival AT home in the divisional round. (Way to show up, Super Bowl champs =[)
I'm a big football fan. I'm sure most of you readers are too. But can anyone imagine going to school or work tomorrow and saying to people surrounding you, "Yeah, I didn't watch the Super Bowl yesterday. Who Won?" You would probably be ostracized. Called gay or un-American. Are we forced to watch the Super Bowl by our society?
As I watch this game, I really cannot wait until it ends. I enjoy seeing the celebration by the winning team, but what I really cant wait for is the brand new hour long episode of The Office.
To end this, I wish good luck to the quarterbacks of these two teams. Good Luck Kordell Stewart and Jake Plummer.
Oh... they're gone?

I would agree with the notion that some are forced to watch the game despite whether they want to or not. However, I went to my friend's house, but we just played ping pong and truthfully, didn't watch the game until the last seven minutes or so.

how can you be forced to watch the superbowl? That's idiotic. You can drive to work in the morning and knew who won. Or even look online and see who won. I know a lot of people who don't like football( which amazes me since a lot women I know don't watch either, but tilt their head to the tv at the bar to at least see what's happening) It's not the end of the world if you didn't watch, did you watch the world series? Most likely not! Ping pong?
