Why does with their 6th superbowl does everyone just feel the urge to crown the Steelers the best franchise ever?

Yes, they have the most Superbowls ever, but thats not all you have to look at. The Packers and Bears should be ahead of them. The Packers with 12 NFL championships and the Bears with 9.

Why are superbowls the only thing that counts? What about tradition and overall winning? The old NFL chapionships were, in my mind, much harder to atain. Back then you couldn't win one by going into "playoffs" with a measly record and get hot at the right time to win a championship like we've seen so often lately. Back then, every game counted. You lost 3 games, you didn't win a championship. You had a bad game, you didn't win a championship. You were forced to be consistant.

The way I look at it, the Bears, packers, and Steelers all have tradition, great fans, historic stadiums but what it should come down to is overall championships, not just superbowls. And by the way, which franchise won the first 2 super bowls?
