I have heard many say that this superbowl was better than the previous one. I think this was a ludicrous statement. Don't get me wrong, Superbowl XLIII was exceptional but I still don't think it topped last year. The Pittsburg Steelers were supposed to win! The New York Giants upset arguably one of the best football teams of all time. I think most of the readers will agree that a low scoring game is very exiting. Superbowl 42 was a very low scoring game and Superbowl 43 had a high scoring game. I also thought it was ridiculous to say that the game winning touchdown catch was better than the head-catch. Although Superbowl 43 was one of the greatest superbowls of all time, it doesn't come close to being a better game than the previous superbowl.

Last year's Super Bowl was better because it was such an upset. Also this year a lot of lousy calls were made that I know probably turned off a lot of viewers. But as we know ARZ would make a game out of it. That final drive was epic, but I still have to give the nod to last year's Super Bowl as being better.

Note: It can still be a great super bowl if it isn't better than Super Bowl 42!

Not even close. The level of Play was much better in SB XLII.

The hankies screwed the flow of the most recent game. While it was exciting it certainly was not better than 42.

How can you idiots think this was the best SB? Damn idiots!

In SB 42 the stakes were higher. The out come either way, made for a better game. The Giants win is the biggest upset of the history of the NFL. Even if it had gone the other way the Pats would have come out as having the best single season record and gone down in history as the probably the best team to ever hit the turf.
This years SB is ,I agree ,one of the all time greats. But It doesn't come close to 42.

Good job with the non-specific bashing so one can't even determine who you're disappointed in.

While I think the last two Super Bowls stand at the top of the list, a real statistical improbability, I do think this game was better than last years which is really saying something. Last year's game had more stories surrounding it, with the Patriots trying to go undefeated and Eli playing in his first Super Bowl, etc. But, if you remove those stories and the fact that both teams had storied histories and just focus on the game itself, I thought this game was better. It had more momentum swings and more big plays. This is something that will be debated for a long time because I don't think any Super Bowls will top them for quite some time. I'm not buying that I've seen made by some that we always think the latest Super Bowl was the greatest. The fact that we got back to back 5-star classics does not happen very often. Here's to hoping for the trifecta next year.

T Fleming....These last 2 SB's were great, true, but only SB 42 stands at the top. There are not many SB's better than 43, but there were some. What about Giants-Bills for example?

agreed. The giants have been apart of two of the greatest superbowls of all time.
