Well, this screws up everything. I was all set to write a blog on Stephen Strasburg, the pitcher from San Diego State who's slated to be taken (by the Nationals) 1st overall in the June draft.

Instead, we're here still obsessing on the A-Rod saga. Only now, we have a new wrinkle in the story. It took 2 news cycles--or roughly 48 hours, for you regular people--for the "truth" to come out.

     He copped to it.

     "Surprise"...not!!!

After everything that's come down the pike as far as steroid use/abuse is concerned, why should anyone be surprised at this latest installment?? And yet, you gotta love A-Rod coming out and saying "My time here in NY has been clean".

Your words, Alex. Not mine. Not anyone else's.

But yet I still have a problem with the timing of this article set to appear in the new Sports Illustrated. Why now, a week before spring training starts?? Why now, days after Joe Torre's book came out (in which the term "A-Fraud" is bandied about in the Yankee clubhouse)?? And more importantly, why now are the SI people hawking this on the MLB Network??

Could it be that, just because Time Warner Cable (along with Cox and Comcast Cable) "graciously" allowed MLB Net to be put on their respective cable systems, there's a quid pro quo going on here?? (It's Latin for "you scratch my back, I kiss your a*s*s"...roughly. LMAO) And since we all know Time Warner is the parent of SI--and by inference, FanNation--should ANY of you be surprised this is getting prominent play on FN??

But getting back to A-Rod for a moment.

If we know now that his time in Texas was tainted, shouldn't we now be skeptical of his Seattle AND Yankee years?? If he admitted (as he did today) he lied in the "60 Minutes" interview, what makes you think he's telling the truth now about his time in Seattle and NY??

Here or Twitter, your comments are welcome.

And yet, NO ONE wishes to comment?? You can do it HERE, too; it's not JUST Twitter.
