In the world of the traditional ball sports, rankings are usually relegated to Power Rankings and the Top 25 lists in college. In boxing and Mixed Martial Arts, those rankings are divided into the Top 10 contenders in each weight class and the Pound for Pound (p4p) Rankings.
Scott Dryden, author of The Triangle Choke and experienced MMA writer has released his February 2009 MMA Pound for Pound Rankings. He takes a look at the Top 10 fighters in MMA p4p; a list that includes several UFC fighters as well as others. Let's take a look at the top 5 in these MMA rankings:
Fedor Emelianenko
Anderson Silva
Georges St. Pierre
Lyoto Machida
- Miguel Torres

Melissa Haro
Jessica Hart

So is Fedor up there because you rate him as getting lucky with his last punch or because you really think he can win a 3 round fight?

Fedor is up there and continues to be up there on almost every MMA p4p list because he has one (B.S.) loss and his dominant in all of his fights. Lucky punch or not he beat Arlovski in the first round via TKO and it was not even a fight.
