Let me start off by saying that I do not like Alex Rodriguez, haven't for a long time, and probably never will. Having said that I think that the news that he took performance enhancing drugs from 2001-2003 is extremely devestating to Major League Baseball. I feel that going by what has gone on with people who have taken steroids not making the Hall of Fame, Rodriguez will never end up in the Hall of Fame. If he does it would be a disgrace to players who have not made it into the Hall, and would also lead the doors open for other cheaters to make it in.

To me A-rod's confession settled little to nothing. While I do have a small amount of respect for him admitting that he took PED's, it doesn't make him "honorable" or "honest" it makes him someone who came clean once he was caught. Would A-rod have admitted his "mistake" if he wasn't caught? Absoulutely not now, and most likely never in the future. And did A-rod really admit to anything? He said that he was "naive" and "young", but if I'm not mistaken he had been in the league for eight years at that point. He admitted to being "pressured" in Texas, but if he was pressured in Texas how is he dealing with New York?

Most of all A-rod didn't admit to any drug in particular. He dodged questions about what drugs he used saying that he didn't know and again reffering to the fact that he was "naive". He fed lines like "I wasn't being truthful with myself". A-rod is full of garbage and if I didn't like him before this steroids fallout, I really don't like him now. A-Fraud knew that he was lying to Katie Couric on 60 minutes, and I hope no one believes this man's lies. The only difference between A-rod and Roger Clemens or Barry Bonds is that A-rod wasn't dumb enough to lie under oath.

A-rod is a fraud, he will never make it into the Hall of Fame, and his name will forever live in infamy as one of the guys that through their terrible actions made the game of baseball better in the longrun.

do you really think that anybody of the (roughly) 95-05 generation should make it to the HoF??
At least not before the over 100 caught in ONE YEAR 03 are known. Who are they? Probably a lot of big shots. Please open the box, to the benefit of MLB. Once one professional sport does really leave behind the dirty past, has strict controls without the influence of owners, sponsors and unions, it will be deeply respected by the fans. And I wonder when the pressure on the NFL, NBA NHL, even Tennis and Golf will force them to react. Does ANYBODY BELEAVE that those sports are any better than Baseball? What about the media going for the real deal (not miserable individuals like "poor" but famous ARod???

I personally love baseball much more than any other sport in the world, and I 100% agree that the names of everybody who tested postive in '03 should be released, and until then nobody from the era makes it to the Hall of Fame. It's disgusting that they're going to come out one by one rather than all at once. I love baseball and I really hope for them to clean the sport up, it's the greatest game ever.
