Let me start of by saying that I am not a huge fan of Alex Rodriguez. I do respect him for what he has brought to the game. However, I personally believe that Alex Rodriguez is getting a rough go out of this Steroid thing. Im asking the fans, and the media to simply give the man a break.
First, there were 103 other names in this report. Some of the people who you may claim are clean could be on this list. So he was not the only one guilty of this.
Second, He did the right thing by coming out and admitting to the public that he did take performance enhancement drugs. I believe him when he says that he only took them from 2001 - 2003. Why do I believe him? It is simple. The test that came back positive was in 2003. A-Rod admitted using the steroid for two other years, not just 2003. That right there says that he is taking ownership, and accountibility for what he did.
Keep in mind, that the steroids that he used was not a banned substance by the league back in 2003. The test was to determine what percentage of players are using. The names were not going to be release. Which is why players agreed to the testing in the first place.
Though I do not agree with his actions. I can respect that a young kid was simply under pressure after signing such a lucrative deal. He had pressure to live up to the expectations for being the best. His numbers dont lie, He has shown consistancy in all of his offensive numbers throughout his career. Was he wrong? Sure he was. But he should not be punished for the rest of his career because of something that happened six years ago. He apologized, and fessed up to what he did. Give him a break.

Sorry, I just can't give someone a break that knowing broke the law and cheated and put a dangerous drug in his system just to get an edge. He only admitted it, because he was backed into a corner. It was IMO a PR move. I will feel the same way about the other 103 players if the list is revealed.....Nice blog though!

He only admitted his drug abuse AFTER he first lied about it. With the evidence staring him in the face, he 'fessed up. I support zero tolerance for drug users no matter who they are. Find the list and throw all 104 out of the game for good.

I agree with the both of you. I do not condone what he did. But considering that many were tested with the thought that they would not be outed. I dont think I would have either.
