Busy weekend ahead, and the next few days could change how I feel about the first half of my year. Don't get me wrong, I'm already quite pleased with the way I've played since New Years Eve, but I want MORE! I've only NOT cashed twice since New Years Eve, but I WANT MORE!
So this weekend I'm cranking up the speed and going full force towards a broken 2009 bankroll or a bankroll set to last the rest of the year without cashing again.
Tonight, $40/22-person tournament starts the evening out. I'm not going to say that this game is donkeyville, but I will say that Shrek calls one of his friends constantly during the game.
A donkey game is a hit or miss opportunity though. You can flop trip aces all you want, but if someone wants to call with 4-5 in their hand, and A-2 on the board....and rivers a 3...there's not much you can do about it. But I do know if I'm patient, and pay attention, there's a very good chance I'll cash in this game.
However, cashing in this game is not my goal. Getting to the cash game afterwards is. Most of these players are out early, and head to the cash table. They take this bad play to the cash table, and build up a big stack. Then a few players (some that read regularly here) finish the tournament, and go take it away from them. I think tonight I'll be part of the takers.
Then tomorrow night there is a game that could be profitable, if it goes off. Right now there is a struggle getting players, since its Valentines Day, and I guess we have a bunch of 9 year old's that normally play. That's the only excuse I can think of for needing to celebrate a DAY...not a HOLIDAY...devoted to chocolate, Jareds and Hallmark. Just dumb.
Sunday, we have a special game welcoming back a friend that moved to Oregon (and took my girlfriend (his wife) with him). This one looks to be a little tougher of a lineup, but again, a nice cash game to follow.
And then Monday...back to my normal Monday game.
So as you can tell, there is good money to be made this weekend. My goal? Lets keep it normal. Why go crazy? My GOAL is a net profit of $500 for the weekend. Any less that that will be kind of a disappointment, and any more will be celebrated all week long!
