It's disappointing that there has been an abundance of excuse-making among Longhorn faithful football fans in the state of Texas should not be making excuses in football there are winners and losers and t.u. is on the down side for the next couple years.........
And that includes Mack Brown, who should know better.
I'm sure Brown didn't want to give back the holding call that pushed back a key Ohio State drive last year in the big win at Columbus. Or wonder exactly where the pass interference call was that helped the '05 'Horns win at Kansas. Or the shady, weird spot an official made in the come-from-behind win at Lubbock this year.
When Brown questioned the pass interference call that negated a Longhorns touchdown, he forgot about all the similar calls that have gone Texas' way over and over.
Bottom line:
Sweed did put his hand on the A&M defender's facemask while going up. I wouldn't have called it, but it was not the decisive moment.
The decisive thing was giving up an 88-yard, nine-minute drive at home in the fourth quarter. The Aggies earned it. Give them credit, move on and quit whining.
You didn't like it when the Buckeyes, Jayhawks and Red Raiders complained, so don't complain now.
One more thing: Those "88,000" fans who agreed with Mack saying Michael Bennett's hit on Colt McCoy was a cheap shot were wrong, too. Kellen Heard's flagrant late hit was another story ... definitely a cheap shot. But nothing about Bennett's hit was bad ... neither did it affect the outcome of the game.
