So I watched the Daytona 500 on FOX. Let me tell you, I was horrified. Now, I havn't watched NASCAR racing since....oh, last years Daytona 500, so I was rather surprized to see just how much FOX hates sports fans. Digger. Cleatus. These two names are synonomus with slights against God. Digger the, what is he? a groundhog? a gopher? Let's just call him a smack in the face of real NASCAR fans.
The digger cam I remember from last year. It was just a nickname for the camera that they drilled into the ground to give a fun new view to racing. This year, they went full out on a 3D rodent that pops outta the bottom of the screen and screams and dives back into the ground. Hope you can spread your laughs out over the year because that same animation will be year round folks! Be happy when June 7th rolls around and TNT, ABC, and ESPN take over. To add to the insult, now there are "Digger and friends" before the race. A short episode series that follows the abomination around the track as he is chased by a police officer/racoon? I think it's a racoon. I was sliding in and out of a coma while watching. It doesn't help that the FOX commentators laugh at every little thing this thing does. They show how really moronic they are.
It's bad enough that I have to fight the "redneck race fan" stereotype. Thank you FOX for setting NASCAR fans back 20 years.
Let's not forget about the FOX coverage of NFL games. We are subjected to a dancing robot named, that's right, Cleatus. Clever name. Same guys who laugh at the prank phone calls on The Simpsons. This is also a slight against God, as you can buy action figures, T-Shirts, and plush dolls of both of these false idols. It's a good thing that CBS and ABC are around, even if they are boring.
