The Browns don't need to draft RB Beanie Wells, it is a good fit, but they have so many needs on Defense. There are 3 main positions that you build through for a Good NFL team.
QB, LT, and DE (OLB for the Browns 3-4 Scheme)
I know they have Kamerion Wimbley, who has struggled the last couple of seasons.
The Browns either need to trade back to get Beanie, or draft my boy OLB/DE Brian Orakpo to help out that pass rush. The Browns have struggled for years to create a pass rush and that has been the killer for the Browns. They have a Strong 3-4 D-Line, but it really means nothing if your 3-4 OLB's get no pressure. Orakpo and Wimbley would create havoc on the outside and with DT Shaun Rogers not allowing QB's to step up, would create SACKS and Turnovers. RAK, is superior in athleticism and has made numerous plays against tough competition. The Browns have lots of young players in the Secondary who really need help. If the pass rush is there, it will help out the secondary. Everyone could pass on the Browns last season. So hopefully Mangenius gets RAK.
The Browns need to bring in a veteran CB or FS. S Gibril Wilson was cut by the Raiders, (Al Davis is a F'ing Idiot) woudl be a very good fit across from Sean Jones, if he is resigned, to add a Winner and a good safety. Why not bring back CB Leigh Bodden if possible. These two guys would help out alot.
This draft is very deep with talented RB's, not the fastest group, but they can play none the less. Here is my Mock Draft for the Browns thru the first 4 rounds. The Browns are really missing that 3rd round pick now.
Free Agency- S Gibril Wilson, CB of some sort.
5-DE/OLB Brian Orakpo Texas- 6-3 263 4.66-70
37-OG Duke Robinson/C Alex Mack (If either one are available.) Both are great, and would help solidify the Right Side of that Oline. Mack can also play OG. I don't know who will be there at 37.
101-RB Andre Brown NC State- 6-0 224 4.49 (A clone of Marion Barber- hasn't produced very well, but NC State has problems. He showed at the Senior bowl that he can play)

If the Brownies want to win they will have to buy The Steelers and sneak them out of Da'Burgh the way Art Modell snuck the Ratbirds out of Cleveland when they were the Brownies.

If the Browns want to take a 3-4 OLB, they'd be foolish to take Orakpo over Everette Brown.
Also, since when is DE one of the three most important positions? Silliness.

I am confused? How can you argue taking Everrette Brown over Brian Orakpo.
BTW, Good showing last night for Pitt, eh?
Brown is in the ACC, not too many dominate LT's or RT's for that matter within the ACC. He is not facing very good teams at all. He also measured in at 6-2 256 and ran a 4.73 40 time.
Orakpo has been a great pass rusher who has learned to set the edge in the run game as well. He is 6-3 7/8 263 4.7 (with a pulled hammy.....runs a 4.60-4.62 when healthy). He has played against OT Jason Smith, OT Phil Loadholt, OG Duke Robinson, LT Okwo (OK State guy), and countless others. Not to mention practice against some of the best Olinemen in the country at UT. He is a leader as well and no off the field incidents. A pure 3-4 OLB who can line up anywhere in the dime and nickle packages like DE Justin Tuck for the Giants.
3 Building blocks for a Football team. QB, LT, RE. Look it up, talk to someone who actually knows, then come back and talk to me.

Who's to say that the Cleveland defense will still be a 3-4 defense next year?

Not necessarily sold on Orakpo. I know he was injured in the Tech game, but even before he was injured, he was hardly noticeable. And I don't think it was Tech's blocking scheme ... just an opinion mind you.

Brian Orakpo is now below Everette Brown thanks to his durability (or lack thereof). Brian Orakpo is known to have been injured often and he just pulled his hamstring at the freakin' combine. If he hurts himself at the combine, what is he going to do on the field? Brown is above Orakpo now.

Am I happy? It doesn't really tickle me one way or the other. I would just think that if you change coaches, you'll change styles. . .or at least that would be the hope. They need to do some winning. That's all I know, so the more they change, the better.
