OK BOYS ..Who's going where and for who?

What does your team, or any team for that matter need?  Where will they get it, who do they give up,  and can they afford the deal?

Everyone should have seen by now that Kunitz is off to the Pens for Whitney.  The Pens also get Eric Tangradi.  He's got 38 goals and 49 assists with Belleville in the OHL.

OK down to needs.  What do you have for me gang?  Only one rule, make it realistic. No "hey I'll trade you Osgood for Backstrom even up"  type stuff.

I'll keep editing as we go along, adding in trades as soon as I can after they happen.  Feel free to comment on which team you think got a good deal and which one really pulled a crap for brains move.

Let's get a good discussion goin!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stars get (C) Begin from Montreal for (D) Janik

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Devils get Havelid  from the Thrashers  for rookie D Salmela

 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Ottawa Senators made the first deal of the day in sending Antoine Vermette to Columbus for goaltender Pascal LeClaire and a second round draft pick

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Toronto Maple Leafs have claimed goaltender Martin Gerber off waivers at Wednesday's deadline.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Calgary Flames added scoring at the 2009 Trade Deadline by acquiring Olli Jokinen from the Phoenix Coyotes for Brandon Prust, Matthew Lombardi and a first round draft pick.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 B's: Nokelainen for Ducks' Montador

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'LL PUT IN THE REST LATER

I'm gonna start by saying that the Pens got the good end of the stick on the Kunitz trade. Ony think I can think is that the Ducks are looking to move more people...can you guess who's next?

Although the Sharks are leading the league in points their scoring except for six guys (Thornton, Marleau, Setigouchi, Pavelski, Crowe and Boyle) is below par. Cheechoo is a major disappointment and a far cry from the 50 goal scorer from two years ago. Sharks should dump Cheechoo to a team like the Rangers for a Dory or Gomez to help rejuvenate all three of their careers.

I agree that the Pens got the better end of the deal. Kunitz will bring some much needed grit up front and this Tangradi kid looks like a stud prospect. I think Whitney will benefit from a change of scenery and do welll with the Ducks.

I don't think the Pens are done dealing yet either. The obvious need is for a scoring winger to play alongside Sid. Dupuis and Kennedy are not, and will never be, first liners. I don't know if Shero will go big like last year, but I'd hate to see him move Staal unless it's part of a deal to get someone like Kovalchuk.

Toronto will be busy at the deadline...
With either Kaberle or Kubina being dealt and Antropov and Moore for sure.

I can see either Tkachuk or Guerin being traded to Boston...

Look for Gary Roberts to move to Calgary by the deadline to finish his career where it started.

The Pens still need wingers...Kunitz is only the begining...
LGP has it right I can see them going after Kovalchuk for Staal and a pick

The Canadians need a big shake-up and a #1 centre...I think they will go after Olli Jokinen from Phoenix

Bouwmeester will be gone...probably will stay in the East...and who ever doesn't get him will go after Pronger or Kaberle.

Look for San Jose and the Wings to tinker as well...

February 27, 2009  09:37 AM ET

And of course Columbus still needs a play making centre for Nash...

February 27, 2009  11:27 AM ET

I see the new rumor is Kessel for Pronger... if Boston does that they're nuts IMO...Kessel has a lot of good years left and I thinnk Pronger is about at the end of the line..maybe a couple years left. He's gotten slower and coughs the puck a lot more now than before. This is a mistake for Boston.
