I can't remember who it said but it was during a round table between some ESPN pundits, who were discussing the possibility of Marbury ending up playing for the Celtics.
One said: "What message does it send out to our (american) youth when being selfish and difficult is rewarded with playing for the world champion."
Well, in order to play for the world champion Marbury would have to get the Spanish citizenship since Spain is the reigning basketball world champio. The Celtics won the NBA championship which is a domestic competition, not a world tournament. The N in NBA might already hint that the competition is on a national basis.
I wish these journalists would understand that the USA is a part of the world, not THE world. How much intelligence does it take to get this ..... or maybe a geography lesson?
