There's a rumor circulating that Rickey Henderson wants to play again. As great of a ballplayer as he was, for the love of God HANG IT UP ALREADY. The man's had a great career but let's face facts here the longer he plays the more people are going to get tired of him playing so much. I mean what is he 50 right now? If he isn't he's damn close. I can see him now at 80 when no one will take him wanting to play and they'll all be like Sorry Rickey, no spot for ya. And the sad thing is that he'll be better known for overstaying his welcome as a player then he will for his stats and that will be a sad awakening for a man that has done so much for the game of baseball. He has even said now that he would give up his spot in the Hall for a last shot at glory his glory days are behind him and therefore it does not make sense for him to continue. So please Rickey for the sake of your sanity (and that of the fans) step aside as a player and do something that will still see you contribute in a way other than playing.
