08:50 PM ET  03.04 |  Theres no question the Steeler defenses were great in the 70s. Their defense is called great now which is a media farce.  But their Super Bowl numbers haven't  been dominating. In 7 Super Bowls, the Steelers defense has given up 133 points for an average of exactly 19 points given up per game. Is that great!?   The Steelers have never dominated an opponent in their S.B. history. Their average margin of victory is 7.5 points.  They have won 3 Super Bowls by 4 points. Their biggest win  was by 12 points over LA. in 1979. How is that epic!? Pittsburgh has only outscored their opponent 168-133 in 7 Super Bowls.. Only 35 points.  Dallas has fared much better with their defense in their 8 Super Bowls. Dallas holds the NFL record for least points given up in a Super Bowl. Dallas gave up 3 points vs. a great Miami team in 1971. Dallas held Denver to 10 points  in 1977 and held the Bills to 13 points in 1993. Dallas has dominated 4 of the 5 teams that they've beaten. Only Pittsburgh gave them a scare in 95,  a 10 point win, the closest game of Dallas' victories. They have outscored their opponents 221-132. Thats 89 more points then their oponent, much better then the Steelers. The Cowboys defense has given up 16.5 points per game in S.B. competition which is better then the phenom? Steelers' defense boasting a 19.0 point average.  Dallas' margin of victory was a whopping 20 point avg. in their 5 wins. The Steelers' margin of victory is a weak 7.5 points avg. per game.? This is another example of the media trying to create a reality that wasn't true and succeeded.. The scores show that the Steelers' defense wasn't great in Super Bowls. Check the scores. Theres no way anyone can say 19 points given up per game is great. Only nitwits in the media. All I can say is that the media has a love affair with the Steelers. As far as Super Bowl defense, Dallas has been better. Look at the scores Einsteins!!! Its all in the scores, I don't make them up! Add the scores. Don't insult me, its not my fault Steeler greatness has been dissolving with every blog. Reality hurts. Steeler greatness is exaggerated.  Jerry Jones is a lousy owner is another media nitwit mirage.
