Now that the Cowboys have cut WR Terrell Owens and SS Roy Williams, there has to be some replacements.

WR Roy Williams will move to No. 1...........

There is a report that WR Tory Holt is asking for a release. He is 32, but is rarely injured and still in great shape. He can be a big part of this offense for 3 seasons.

Another guy would be WR Renaldo Curry, a former Raider, who has never really had a Good QB throwing him the ball. He has been productive for what he had to work with and could be a viable No. 2 WR.

SS Jermaine Phillips, 30, can cover and hit. He has played the Cover 2, so he is used to being all alone deep. Something Roy Williams could never do.

SS Sean Jones, very inconsistent, but could prove to be a force at SS. Still very young, at 26-27.....

I'm not so sure that we still need help at WR... Williams, Austin, and Crayton should be able to carry the load, especially with Witten in the mix when needed. Looks like a pretty decent WR core to me.

You're definitely right on SS though. We need to pick up somebody.

I have seen Crayton single handedly, lose games for the Cowboys. I don't trust him. He talks more **** than anyone on the team. Catch the ball, then talk!

Dallas is going to need more than help at WR and SS as long as Jerry Jones is running things. I am a Steeler Fan (Super Bowl Champs) and yes we have had issues with Santonio Holmes, but we kept it in house. Management knew how to handle the situation. They pretty much told the media to talk football and we'll handle our people in house. I have watched Roy Williams play, and he is basically a possession receiver. He is not going to stretch the field. So teams will clog the box to stop the running game, and force Romo to beat them with his arm. Witten will probably have 150 catches this year. Good luck with your tight end leading you to a Super Bowl. You think it was a media circus last year. "The best is yet to come".

Fella, the media circus has left town...

Dallas will be a better "team" with less distractions.

Roy Williams is a probowl WR and can and will replace TO's production.

Miles Austin is a field stretcher, he just has been buried on the depth chart behind Glenn, TO and Crayton 2yrs ago and then Roy, TO and Crayton last season.

When the guy is in the game, he makes sick plays.

Dallas does NOT need a SS as bad as you guys make it seem....we played 13 games without Roy Williams the saftey last season and only finished 7th in total D...not too shabby with a 2nd, then 3rd string saftey starting for us.

Between SS and WR I think we do need to address the positions but maybe more thru the draft with youngsters than with aging vets.

If we can get a Tory Holt or Marvin Harrison on the cheap, then god bless, but doing that will only slow down Austin's growth again.

My bet is they fill the spots in the draft and try to grow the talent from within.

Do NOT forget that Felix Jones will stretch fields....he will force backers out of the middle and into the flat to cover him....that opens up the middle for crossing patterns and slants and allows more space for JWitt to operate.

My guess is Roy catches 70passes for over 1000yds and 10 scores and Witten prob does something close to it...

Remember guys, there is only so many footballs to go around and it was time for TO to go.

Dallas will be a better team because of it.

Sorry Dude, Jerry Jones thrive on media attention and controversy. So the circus is alway's in town. But here is a stat I want you guys to see:

Pittsburgh Steelers: Super Bowl Champs
Hines Ward (WR) - 81 Receptions
Santonio Holmes (WR) - 55 Receptions
Heath Miller (TE) - 48 Receptions

Arizona Cardinals: Super Bowl Runner Ups
Larry Fitzgerald (WR) - 96 Receptions
Anquan Boldin (WR) - 89 Receptions
TE's combined (TE) - 22 Receptions

Kansas City Chiefs: Bad Team
Dwayne Bowe (WR) - 86 Receptions
Mark Bradley (WR) - 30 Receptions
Tony Gonzalez (TE) - 96 Receptions

Dallas Cowboys:
T.O. (WR) - 69 Receptions
Patrick Crayton (WR) - 39 Receptions
Jason Witten (TE) - 81 Receptions

Do you see a pattern??? Your "Tight End" should never be your leading receiver. Because your "Tight End" will never lead you to the promise land. If they did Kansas City would win the "Super Bowl" every year with Tony Gonzalez. So sometimes T.O. is correct when he complains. And remember, T.O. was not the only receiver complaining in Dallas. It was his words that got printed, as usual.

We don't need a WR (other than for depth). TO's first season with Romo was his most productive and this happened with Witten at TE and Crayton as 2nd WR. People need to quit acting like Crayton lost us games (stupid statement because he hasnt). That NYGiants game (play-offs) was lost by our special teams & by Fasano dropping a TD pass that was in his breadbasket. Roy Williams was brought in to replace TO and now is the time for him to do it. Some of you act like TO was our offense. The production he had (that is - the throws) will be more evenly distributed between RW, Crayton, Austin, Witten and - listen up you doomsdayers - FELIX JONES! That's right, his ability to draw coverage will ease up double teams on Witten and/or any WR. He was doing just that before he was hurt. If we have problems, next season on offense, it will NOT BE BECAUSE WE DON"T HAVE ENOUGH TALENT! A lack of talent has not been our problem - its the lack of a football ethos and more of a Hollywood circus that has permeated the organization (from the top, down).

i dont trust dallas other receivers other than roy williams the rest of them are to inconsistent.they need to sign another veteran which i think will never happer. strong safety is a must i would like to see jermaine phillips sign.

people are getting down on R.Williams but think about where he came from. In Detroit he was on a terrible team and still produced. so dallas has a #1 WR. as for everyone else they seriously need help. Crayton is a joke and isnt even close to being a consistant enough to be considered a true #2. what they need to do is bring in a decent veteran like Bryant Johnson or Holt. then draft a couple of young wr's to be developed. At SS a veteran like Chavous would be decent enough fill intill another option comes along next year or in this years draft.
