Andy Pettitte got his first start of the spring today, and he did his job. He went 1.2 innings, allowing one hit, one walk, and he struck out two batters. Dan Giese pitched 2.1 innings, allowing a solo home run and he picked up two K's.
Ian Kennedy was rocked for 5ER during his 2.2 innings of work. You can't defend that, but people are going crazy with this. These games mean absolutely nothing. Everyone is entitled to bad outings. Joba has had a horrible spring so far, and you don't hear anyone bashing him.
The Yankees only scored 2 runs off of Blue Jays pitching today. The only runs scored on the game were from a two-run home run from Brett Gardner. It really is amazing, considering he only hit 9HR's in 1448 at-bats during his minor league career. It was his third home run of the spring, and he has only had 21 at-bats. Watch out you guys..Gardner has this job pretty much locked up.
