I personally think it was time for Staford to go. Sure he became very popular in his freshman year, coming in and showing his stuff in the first game of his first season as a bulldog. As a sophmore, he did a very impressive job. But this year my admireation for Mathew Staford was eliminated. I just felt he didn't come to play with the same intensity or something. It may just be me though. It would help though if Mike Bobo would start calling sensible plays in situations. Staford is a cool guy though and maybe he can turn this Lion team around. All we can do is wait and see what this mysterious quarterback is going to cook up.

no offense DMAC, but most of Bobo's calls ( with a few notable exceptions) were great. Many of them were dictated by the fact that the offense was working behind a very young line. That was most apparent in the red zone, which is a huge difference between 07' and 08' teams performance. Even though the yOL was young in 07, there were two Sr's that made them congeal.

Secondly, though Staffords style of leadership may be questioned, you can't argue that he didn't come to play. I think he is just somewhat streaky when it comes to getting the flow. Certainly some of his plays were "head scratcher" but for every INT. under pressure on the opponenet's end of the field vs. GT- there was a masterstroke like the pump fake tuchdown to Mike Moore vs. Mich. St. that make you shake your head. That is why I think he would have benefitted from another year.

However, there is no way I would roll the dice with 30 million on the line...ever.

When you have a chance to be a top three pick, what is there to think about? Sam Bradford may look really dumb a year from now playing behind Oklahoma's compromised offensive line. I wonder if these kids take out insurance policies and for how much. An injury could cost Bradford millions and millions despite his return's satisfaction to the Sooner alums.

I guess the only exception to my rule stated above is an Alabama's Andre Smith whose self inflicted destruction will be one for the textbooks.
