Please leave all comments on my blog www.collegebasketball247.blogspot.com thanks Championship week, the prelude to the official March Madness, is probably the most entertaining week of college basketball. It's the fans chance to see teams for every conference to see players that have had little to no national TV exposure. The intensity of these conference championships is unmatched anywhere, and there is nothing like seeing Morehead St. and Austin Peay battle it out in double overtime, or all the other thrilling finishes. The there are the miracles. Syracuse going on an amazing run in 2006 behind Gerry McNamara, or Georgia's amazing SEC title run last year, in which the Dawgs won 4 games in 3 days to capture the SEC crown. Crazy finishes are standard just look at 2006 in which there where too many amazing finishes to count. There is nothing like a watching an unbelievable shot in the Big West, MAC or WCC giving a team a bid that they would other wise not have received. I mean what is greater than Siena, or East Tennessee St., or even Alabama A&M playing for the ultimate glory of winning a conference championship. I mean who doesn't love it when these small schools gets all the attention. Big conference tournaments are great as well, the mini-madness is great as teams battle for one of those final bubble spots and teams like Georgia and Illinios made unbelievable runs to their confrence tournament finals. The Big East tournament is the best of all the tourneys. Played in Madison Square Garden, 12 teams (soon to be 16) play it out on one of the most legendary courts in all of basketball. I short championship week has become great, because all of the conference champions that are crowned, the last second heroics and the memories that it gives us as fans.
