This will be the last mock draft I'll do before my final "draft" which I'll probably mock up a day or two before the draft. With this one I starting mocking the first two rounds instead of just the first round.

FIRST ROUND

1. DETROIT LIONS - OT EUGENE MONROE, VIRGINIA: Gotta fix the interior before you address the skill positions. They'll still have an opportunity at 20 to get a QB. Plus, the have some guys to look at in the 2nd and 3rd. Also, next year they'll have McCoy and Bradford coming out in the draft

2. ST. LOUIS RAMS - OT JASON SMITH, BAYLOR: They just released Orlando Pace and they'll need to find his replacement.

3. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS - OLB AARON CURRY, WAKE FOREST: This as close to a sure thing as there is in this draft. The hope is that Curry will help the pass rush, run defense, and pass defense.

4. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - DT B.J. RAJI, BOSTON COLLEGE: They let Rocky Bernard get away and their run defense was bad enough with him on the team. They have to find a good DT in this draft an Raji is a good one.

5. CLEVELAND BROWNS - DE/OLB BRIAN ORAKPO, TEXAS: With Willie McGinest half way out the door, Mangini will need his 3-4 rush LB.

6. CINCINNATI BENGALS - WR MICHAEL CRABTREE, TEXAS TECH: They probably have a bigger need at OT, but Crabtree may be a once in a decade type player. He'll do fine filling T.J. Houshmandzadeh's shoes.

7. OAKLAND RAIDERS - OL ANDRE SMITH, ALABAMA: Al Davis loves controversial players and coach Tom Cable is a former OL coach. makes too much sense.

8. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS - OT MICHAEL OHER, OLE MISS: Gotta beef up the O-line.

9. GREEN BAY PACKERS - RB KNOWSHON MORENO, GEORGIA: Maybe a surprise, but GB's offense lacks explosiveness and Aaron Rodgers' will need some weapons to develop as a QB in the NFL. Do they have bigger needs? yes. But they take value over need as they should.

10. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS - CB/FS MALCOLM JENKINS, OHIO STATE: I always thought they would look for QB here, if they could, but with the restructuring of Alex Smith's contract and some of the talk I hear out of SF, I'm thinkin they give Smith and Shaun Hill one more season to prove what they have.

11. BUFFALO BILLS - QB MATTHEW STAFFORD, GEORGIA: J.P. Losman is all but gone and who knows how Trent Edwards will play this season.

12. DENVER BRONCOS - CB VONTAE DAVIS, ILLINOIS: They let Dre Bly go and they really didn't have much depth in the secondary when Bly was there.

13. WASHINGTON REDSKINS - DE EVERETTE BROWN, FLORIDA STATE: Brian Cushing is also worth a look with this pick. Assuming Orakpo and the four top OTs are gone, it would be between Brown and Cushing. Or a trade down.

14. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - OLB BRIAN CUSHING, USC: A new DC, re-signed Jonathan Vilma, brought in Jabari Greer...it's obvious where the focus is this offseason: Defense.

15. HOUSTON TEXANS - WR JEREMY MACLIN, MISSOURI: Yet another weapon for Matt Schaub and that Texan offense. If Shaub can't get it done with Steve Slaton, Andre Johnson, Maclin, Owen Daniels, and Kevin Walter then the Texans will finally know he's not the guy.

16. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS - DE TYSON JACKSON, LSU: They let Igor Olshansky leave and I can't think of any better rplacement for him than Mr. Jackson.

17. NEW YORK JETS - QB MARK SANCHEZ, USC: They passed on Matt Leinart a couple years ago, now another SC QB falls right into their lap.

18. CHICAGO BEARS - WR HAKEEM NICKS, UNC: They need a WR with reliable hands who runs good routes and that is Hakeem Nicks. Heyward-Bey may be the favorite, but Nicks fits this team way better.

19. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS - DT PERIA JERRY, OLE MISS: Tampa's run defense was beyond horrible at the end of last season. With Michael Turner, Jonathan Stewart, Deangelo Williams, and Reggie Bush in their division, it's an absolute must that their run defense be top notch.

20. DETROIT LIONS(from Cowboys) - LB REY MAUALUGA, USC: Greg Schwartz would love nothing more than to get a guy like Rey to run his defense.

21. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - WR DARRIUS HEYWARD-BEY, MARYLAND: Gotta give Donovan McNabb some weapons.

22. MINNESOTA VIKINGS - WR KENNY BRITT, RUTGERS: They have their deep threat, now here's their red zone target.

23. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - DE/OLB AARON MAYBIN, PENN ST: A 3-4 rush LB that Belichick will have fun with.

24. ATLANTA FALCONS - DE MICHAEL JOHNSON, GEORGIA TECH: An instant fan favorite at a position thry need. The guy is athletically a top 10 pick, but there are some concerns. He had an amazing pro day and combine.

25. MIAMI DOLPHINS - LB JAMES LAURINAITIS, OHIO STATE: Sure, not the best combine workout ever, but this guy fits the Parcells profile. I think he can play multiple positions in the 3-4, eventually.

26. BALTIMORE RAVENS - WR PERCY HARVIN, FLORIDA: They would have a hard time passing on this kind of talent if he falls to 26.

27. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS - DT EVANDER HOOD, MISSOURI: Gotta get some bulk in the middle of the defense.

28. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES(from Carolina) - TE BRANDON PETTIGREW, OKLAHOMA ST: Eben Britton and Chris "Beanie" Wells are a possiblity here too, but there are guys like those two that they can draft later. Such as OTs Okung and Beatty and RBs P.J. Hill, Shonn Greene, and Rashad Jennings.

29. NEW YORK GIANTS - CB DARIUS BUTLER, UCONN: Can never have enough depth in the secondary and with all the first round WR's off the board, this may be the best guy available.

30. TENNESSEE TITANS - LB CLAY MATTHEWS, USC: His uncle is a Titans hall of famer and they have a need at LB. Jeff Fisher has a lot of flexibility with this pick though. Could take a lot of things here.

31. ARIZONA CARDINALS - DE ROBERT AYERS, TENNESSEE: Bertrand Berry is likely gone and Antonio Smith is gone. So that leaves them with Calais Campbell and Travis LaBoy. Ayers would be a great fit in that defense.

32. PITTSBURGH STEELERS - CB ALPHONSO SMITH, WAKE FOREST: Bryant McFadden is in Arizona now, so they are left with William Gay and old man Deshea Townsend. It's a must that get a CB who can start in this league.

SECOND ROUND

  1. DETROIT LIONS - DT RON BRACE, BOSTON COLLEGE
  2. NEW ENGLAND(from Chiefs) - OLB/TE/DE CONNOR BARWIN, CINCINNATI
  3. ST. LOUIS - LB CLINT SINTIM, VIRGINIA
  4. CLEVELAND - S LOUIS DELMAS, WESTERN MICHIGAN
  5. SEATTLE - OG DUKE ROBINSON, OKLAHOMA
  6. CINCINNATI - RB DONALD BROWN, UCONN
  7. JACKSONVILLE - SS PATRICK CHUNG, OREGON
  8. OAKLAND - QB/WR PATRICK WHITE, WEST VIRGINIA
  9. GREEN BAY - DE/OLB LARRY ENGLISH, NIU
  10. BUFFALO - RB CHRIS "BEANIE" WELLS, OHIO STATE
  11. N.Y. GIANTS(trade with 49ers) - WR BRIAN ROBISKIE, OHIO STATE
  12. MIAMI(from Redskins) - CB/FS SEAN SMITH, UTAH
  13. SAN FRANCISCO(from Giants via Saints) - RB LESEAN MCCOY, PITTSBURGH
  14. HOUSTON - OLB MARCUS FREEMAN, OHIO STATE

If you haven't heard of Kenny Britt, that's your problem, not his. Britt is 6'6" and runs a 4.4 40 yard dash. That's first round material. You don't want him in Minnesota, there's 31 other teams that would love to have him. You must not ever read mock draft or pay attention to college ball if you haven't heard of some of those guys...because they are all popular players.

I <3 EUGENE MONROE.

Thank you, someone who agrees with me. I have had Monroe #1 since before Andre Smith's combine situation.

But there is no way the 49ers pass on Stafford and Sanchez and no way Bills go for a quarterback in the first round.

I doubt the Patriots will take Maybin, Barwin is a possibility though.

I am also a fan of Monroe, but he will not be taken first....Agreed with Capricus on the Niners, and the Cheifs will most likely take Sanchez or Stafford if there there.

oh and you have Pettigrew Twice:

1st Round:
28. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES(from Carolina) - TE BRANDON PETTIGREW, OKLAHOMA ST

2nd Round:
6. CINCINNATI - TE BRANDON PETTIGREW, OKLAHOMA STATE

March 12, 2009  09:47 AM ET

I see Britt going in the 2nd round to be honest. I see Harvin going before Britt. And I also see the Cowboys taking a safety or a receiver in the second round since those are more pressing needs. No doubt the need a go OT, but they can find one of those in the 3rd or 4th. And even if they draft one, he will still be a back up.

March 12, 2009  10:31 AM ET

Oakland will get either Crabtree or Raji in Rd 1, and will take a center in rd 2

aww crap. sorry, the comment saved and I accidentally sent it again, LOL.

March 12, 2009  11:05 AM ET

I'll agree that the Cowboys do need to look at o-line in the draft. So, kudos on that.

March 12, 2009  11:10 AM ET

I didn't realize there's two Brendon Pettigrews in the draft!

Not if he is reasonably good. Put him at LG for a year, then move him out into Flozell's position, and then renegotiate Flo's contract, or move him in at LG where he will be less exposed.

And WR, we have a decent core with Williams & Crayton, Hurd & Austin in the 2nd tier, and don't forget about Isaiah Stanbeck... he's only been with the team for 2 years. It feels like a lot longer, but only 2 years. He was drafted the same year as Spencer. I will say that 07 draft is starting to look pretty bad for the Cowboys.

Spencer
Marten
Isaiah Stanback
Doug Free
Nick folk
Deon Anderson
Courtney Brown

Sure Anderson is a starting FB, and sure Folk is a excellent kicker, but the rest of the draft has way too many questions surrounding it. Hopefully Spencer will be a force in the upcoming years, but I'm getting a little impatient.

One from Oklahoma State, and the other from Bizarro Oklahoma, where the women are pretty, and their football team is competitive.

This mock draft sucks... lol

the vikes went for a deep threat a couple of years ago and his name was troy williamson and he could not catch a ball i have looked at many mock drafts and havnt seen him once for first round or even second round and just because he is 6'6" and runs a 4.4 doesnt make him a first round pick

I'll throw in my 2 cents. Per Mayock, 5th best WR in draft, projected in 2nd rounder, and beyond that, there isn't much chatter about him.
Per some mock drafts:

14. Houston Texans
Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers: A bit inconsistent, but could be a strong complement to Andre Johnson.

Rutgers' Kenny Britt could be a top-75 pick in the draft this season.
AP
Andre Brown/RB/24/4Sr: The Wolfpack's leading rusher three of the past four seasons, Brown was back to form in 2008 after missing most of his junior campaign with a broken foot. Brown is a well-sized ball carrier who picks up the difficult yardage on the inside yet is also an accomplished pass catcher out of the backfield. He'll have an opportunity to find a roster spot in the NFL as a team's second back and next April's poor class of senior runners could force Brown into the third frame.

Kenny Britt/WR/#88/3Jr: Rutgers big play receiver has an NFL body to compliment his breakaway speed. Britt led the team in receiving the past two years, setting school records for pass catching yards in both campaigns, most recently totaling 1252 yards this season. He is expected to enter April's draft and is a potential top 75 choice.

45. New York Giants: Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers, Junior

. Wide receiver: The absence of a playmaking receiver and lack of arm strength by QB Chad Pennington hurt the running game because safeties were able to cheat up and stuff the box. Also, an inconsistent, evolving offensive line didn't afford Pennington enough time to take shots downfield. That said, the young corps of Ted Ginn Jr., Greg Camarillo and Davone Bess all improved because of Pennington's smarts and accuracy. Kenny Britt from Rutgers might be a good fit as we all know how Parcells loves athletic receivers who played in the Northeast and his hometown of New Jersey.

47 New England (from S.D.) Kenny Britt* WR 6'4" 205 Rutgers

New York Giants: Paul Kruger, DE, Utah
This pick really depends on what the Giants do with Mathias Kiwanuka once Osi Umenyiora comes back. If they bring Kiwanuka back to strongside linebacker, they'll likely take a defensive end in Round 1. If they keep Kiwanuka up front, they'll choose a linebacker like Clint Sintim or Brian Cushing.

Wide receiver is also an option, but this draft is so deep at the position that the Giants can take someone like Kenny Britt, Hakeem Nicks or Brandon LaFell in the second round.

March 12, 2009  11:39 AM ET

I dont see Oakland picking up Pat White in the 2nd round.. Pat White will be a 2nd DAY draft pick.. I guarantee you that.

March 12, 2009  12:03 PM ET

I'm happy to finally see a OT going first overall! I don't think stafford is anything special AT ALL! I do believe that Monroe won't be the first tackle off the board since all the hype is around Smith, but I would take either one in Detroit.
Other than that I would have to say that a lot of the other picks are reaches and not necessarly first priority.
Greenbay -Moreno i would say they would try for B.J, but since he's off the board probably jenkins or davis at cb
San Fran would not pass on stafford if he was available, and the bills would probably go LB or DE with that pick either way.
Personally i'm hoping stafford pulls a brady quin and lands a spot at twenty five or something.
I also think Laurinitious and Mike Johnson are a reach in the first round since they are both gamble picks.

Beacuse it's different? Sorry i fI don't feel like making the same boring mock everyone else keeps making...

BTW, telling me theres no way the Bills take a QB and theres no way GB takes an RB is ridiculous, because every year a team makes a surprise selection at a position they don't really need. It's called drafting for value, which is a philosophy almost every GM drafts with.

Did mess up the Pettigrew thing, but late nights happen...my bad!

Chiefs have Matt CAssel and Tyler Thigpen, they will definetly NOT go QB in the 1st rd...0% chance they will take a QB.

PAT KIRWIN, of NFL.com and the NFL Network is just one of many mockers who have Kenny Britt going in the first round. Once again, it's your problem if you've never heard of him. The guy went for over 1000 yards and 10 tds on a BCS team. Played/practiced in the Senior Bowl and participated in the combine...so, there's plenty of opportunity there for you to know who he is.
