ok, I am just absolutely dumbfounded at how the media in Denver and across
the country are talking about how Denver SHOULD trade Jay Cutler. I really can't
believe it. It would be one thing if he was just really bad, but he has gotten
better every year. He had a career year last year and the team went through 8
RBs! He had no balance on offense, his defense was 2 worst in the league (worst
in my heart though) and he still almost got them to the playoffs. (oh, and he
had to fight off Diabetes for the first time too!)
This is a franchise type QB going into his 4th full year as a starter that
probably has one of, if not the, strongest arms in the NFL!! He's just getting
his feet set in the league and knocking off the rust from being a young QB and
he's a team leader and now the rookie GM and rookie HC decide to take Bowlen's
Lamborghini for a ride and crash it within 2 months? They had an offense that
was ready to win, YESTERDAY. All they needed on offense was a RB or 2 to stay
healthy all year and maybe another WR and they were set. SET.
Instead of taking the offensive players they had and using the weapons they
had in the system, the rookie GM and HC decided that they have all these new
tools at their disposal, why not play with them. Problem is, they scratched the
car and have tried to blame it on someone else. Cutler has every right to be
mad. I really equate them even THINKING about trading him to them trading
Elway, or trading Montana, or trading Manning after their 3rd years in the
league simply because a new coach wanted to win now. What sense does that
make? If they trade him, they are setting the team back at least 5 years, maybe
more. All they had to do was come in and make the defense average and they
would be in the playoffs. They have done a pretty good job so far with Dawkins,
Goodman, Hill and Davis. Its a good start on D. They only have to be average,
AVERAGE!!! The offense was ready to win last year, maybe even the year before
that. Make the defense relevant and they are a playoff team. Make them
slightly better than average, and they are a Super Bowl contender.
I really can't believe that sports writers are so quick to say dump him,
he's a pre-madonna, etc. He's in the process of becoming a top 5 QB in the
league or better and writers talk about trading him like its the greatest idea
ever. Trading him will leave a scar on Denver that Bronco fans will not soon
forget and will cause me to question whether Bowlen has any idea how to run that team with Shanahan there to explain things to him.

Great post!
I will be sick if the Broncos end up trading Cut. It makes no sense. It made no sense in the first place. I blame the media and Bus Cook for this saga that is sapping my energy and scraping years off my life.
The media is of course the main contributor of the chaos, with their "unnamed sources" and if it bleeds it leads mentality.
Bus Cook doesn't have a QB to rep in this draft and is trying to make a case to the 2010 class.
But if money is all it take to right this ship, then for God's sake pay jay. He's a top five QB and he needs to know that the Broncos really do believe in him. show him the money.

Welcome to "Big D" and no, that's not Dallas right now, but Drama. You Bronco fans are split right down the middle, just as the Cowboy fans were, and still are, about one thing or another.
It would be hard to wish you guys (fans) the best of luck, because half want him traded and half want him to stay, but someone is going to lose. I will anyway. Whatever is the best , then that's what you guys need. Good Luck with this, and whichever way it goes, I hope it works out for the best.
