Yes, McNabb for Cutler, is a rumor that has been floated out there but summarily rejected for several good and understandable reasons.  First, Cutler is making himself out to be a crybaby and Philly already has a crybaby playing QB so even though that may be an even swap, why trade a headache for a headache.  Second, the Broncos were rumored to want two first round picks, which the Eagles would never do.  They love their draft picks like their own children and besides, they only have 86 picks this year.  The NFL also wouldn't allow the trade because that would be three Eagles joining Denver in one off-season.  McNabb would join Correll Buckhalter and Brian Dawkins.  In addition, Cutler makes too much money for a quarterback who may or may not be able to play in the league, and the Birds already have one of those in Kevin Kolb.  The Eagles would never pull off a trade that might be deemed positively by the fan base, not while Joe Banner is running the show.  Joe Banner is the conservative type and is more likely to trade for Ann Coulter than Jay Cutler citing she would fit under his cap better.  And finally, why would the Eagles trade for Jay Cutler when the likes of Marques Tuiasosopo and Ken Dorsey are still available.  So although you might hear it in and around the rumor mill, don't believe it!  The Cutler for McNabb thing is a rumor and a bad one at that.  Thanks for your time.

I have said it on other blogs to trade McNabb and the 28th pick for Cutler. But I TOTALLY believe the Eagles "braintrust" would never let it happen. TO CHEAP, TO CAUTIOUS and WAY TO STUPID. LAURIE, BANNER and REID ARE THE SMARTEST MEN IN THE NFL!!!! (their belief). The Eagles have purged the team of most of their veterans so go all the way. Turn the whole franchise around. Trade for Cutler and Boldin. Then sack Reid for Shanahan. THIS WOULD BE ONE EXCITING WAY TO TURN AROUND A FRANCHISE!!!! These are only my wildest sports dreams and will never happen!!!!

I want to preface this statement with I in no way want to trade Cut. I want to see 6 right next to 7 in the ring of fame.

With that said: McNabb I could deal with. The only real draw back being that he's old and Cut is so young.

McNabb would become fast friends with Clady.

Cutler owns McNabb...McNabb should be so happy to even be in the same talks.

This is plain silliness. If this deal was to go through, it should be straight up. No draft pick thrown in. As an Eagles fan, I can tell you that the Eagles like to screw up their draft picks by themselves, thank you.

This falls into the "unintentionally funny" category.

This deal would be straight up an maybe one of our 5th Rder's but this deal won't go through period. DMAC still has another 3-4 years pf good Football left an though the cheap Eagles didnt pick up a big WR like TJ we still have 12 draft picks including the 2 1st Rder's. Donald Brown is the perfect WesrCoast RB an shoulf have stayed at ND an can spell an start for Westbrook when we need him to. Then his OT teamate as our other pick is a solid one-two, but I still hope we make the deal for Boldin since we have so much ammo.
Also Philly makes plenty of GREAT DRAFT PICKS, 1 draft Lito, Brown at CB an SS that now plays for the 49er's. Tra Thomas, 10 year starter, DeSean Jackson the 4th or 5th WR taken 900+ Yards leading all Rookies. Westbrook, 3rd Rd pick, Coles, 4th RD Pick, Corey Simon 10th overall pick had 5 great seasons than we knew when it was time to cut him lose. This Draft we'll clean up nicely, I guarentee it an next year well have even more cap space to spend on great player's.

Also moving up 5 or 6 spots an drafting that big fast WR Bey frm Maryland then drafting Brown at RB would improve our Offence alot though I hope we sign Torry Holt since he still has a couple solid years left with DeSean an Curtis Burning it up, Avant who is underated an will continiue to play btr as our Possession WR, Celeck is solid an a btr Blocker than LJ an healthier. Westbrook or hopefully Brown out of the Back Field catching the Ball.

CUTLER HAS NOTHING ON MCNABB, he doesnt have the 200 TD's to 100 Ints, the 30,000 Passing yards, the over 4,000 Rushing Yards an 24 TD's, 5 Pro Bowls to 1, Runner Up to Faulk at MVP an 2004 NFC Player Of The Year an lets not forget the pathetic offence DMAC had early on N STILL has managed a 9-5 Rec in the playoff's, HOW MANY PLAYOFF WINS DOES CUTLER HAVE? 0 I even like the Broncos but they quit last season they quit, Philly had no chance to make the PLayoff's nut THEY DIDNT QUITE an demoidhed everyone including the COWVOYS all Denver has to do was win, Elway must have been dissapointed more than ever.
Laurie, Reid an McNabb know what their doing, yeah we havn't won a Title since 1960 but Philly was the only team to EVER beat a VINCE LOMBARDI COACHED Packer team in the playoff's. I'd cut my finger off like a Yakuza for a SB but im just as content having my team make the playoff's year after year, unlike Denver.

As a die hard, yet realistic Eagles fan, never be content on just making the playoffs, that is falling into the Joe Banner trap of "remaining competitive" because unlike Denver, we have yet to win a Super Bowl.
