Is it just me, or does Shanahan have to be loving this right now?

So we all know what's happened and I don't have to explain it, and I'm not going to even give my opinion on it (I side with Cutler) because there are way too many opinions out there already.  But what I AM going to do, is tell you how I think this situation will end up (hopefully).

Call me an optimist but I think Cutler will be in a Broncos jersey when the season starts.  The Broncos don't have a better option at quarterback, and with Shanahan's firing and an astounding 15 free agent additions it's clear that this team wants to be a playoff contender NOW.

Cutler is not stupid, and he won't take the fines that will be coming to him if he skips team mini-camps in mid-April.  The Broncos know this.  I bet Cutler shows up and the relationship gets mended, and Cutler steps up and leads this team better than he has ever done before to prove a point to the entire league that he IS as good as he says he is, and as good as we all know he is.

May that's just wishful thinking, but I honestly believe that all of this trade talk is just giving journalists something to write about.

I hope your right shawno.

I agree with you, although it's for different reasons. McDaniels strikes me as the kind of guy that will do something just because he can, including not trading Cutler after Cutler asks for a trade. I actually did a blog about this the other day outlining my reasons for why I think that Jay will be in Denver next year.

I think that McDaniels told Cutler not to come to the voluntary stuff, and Cutler hinted at that without saying it, as it would take away from McDaniels' program and less would get accomplished. I also think that Cutler will still receive his $100,000 bonus for attending voluntary workouts.

McDaniels may have botched this one, but the guy's not an idiot. He knows that the Broncos best chance to win at this point is with Cutler. The only thing that would change it is if the Broncos were really impressed with Stafford at his pro day.

McDaniels would get a job in 5 minutes if he were fired. So would Cutler. With two guys that are so highly sought after, wouldn't it be best to have them work together? I think that both of them are starting to realize that.

Cutler it is time to 'forgive' if you are the Christian you say you are. It is time to grow up and become a man and a leader of a great team. Yes, it is true you got your feelings hurt, so get over it dude. You have so much to offer to the Broncos. Ask yourself: What type of example are you setting for young kids who aspire to reach the level you have reached? How many thousands or college players never make it into the pros? How many of these players would give anything to be where you are?

I went to Vandy and I am from Nashville and I know the history of Vandy football. I know first hand how you lead Vandy to the best season in the school's history. You have the ability as a player and as a leader to lead the Broncos back to the Super Bowl.

This not about the money, it is so much more. Here is your chance to show what a great leader you can become. It is time to stop thinking about yourself only and think about the example you are setting, not just in sports, but in real life. With over 12 million people out of work you want to walk away from a chance of a life time in a dream job. Why?

Become an inspiration to all sports fans, no matter the sport. Back to the above: If you are a Christian as you say you are, it is time to forgive and move on. And by the way if Jesus can forgive while dying on the cross you can certainly forgive what has taken place. Are you above Christ? I think not.

BILL BELICHICK! All of his coaches from the "cheating era" are being dispersed through out the league and screwing up all of these franchises; EVEN ONE COLLEGE TOO!! Notre Dame, the Jets, the Browns (twice) and now Denver show that his former coaches are not that good unless they have tapes to cheat and make adjustments with. Belichick can`t cheat anymore so he sends all his former coaches out to screw up other teams.

I wonder if this is some big conspiracy of the Patriots. Watch the Patties win all games next season...and win the SB.
